Is $500 the right price for this card?

PSA 10 1st Ed Lapras from Fossil.

eBay sold listings are a bit sketchy.

Do you guys think a Lapras is worth this much? I am pretty sure this card was around $900 not so long ago - not sure if Fossil prices are dropping? :thinking::thinking::thinking:

That seems in the ballpark but it does seem to be dropping a little. There was quite a few on ebay recently. One is being auctioned now so I’d wait to see how that goes.

I’m not too sure on the price either I just know a bunch were on ebay for like $700-$800 and just recently there were a bunch for like $600-$700 so I’m not sure if they’re even selling. Seems like there are more for sale than there are people who want them atm.

@chinameowthsunflower is totally right here I think,

Basically one sells for $1000, loads of people get hyped, loads additional get graded and the price drops, the price of this card was always almost exclusively based upon the POP, this has now grown, so therefore price goes down,

Collectors of this card lose confidence and list card, and the chain continues,

HOWEVER, this card still has a low pop within the Fossil Set, just money is being moved too other collections (EX Series) and newer cards,

I expect the auction too hit $515 :wink: Place your bets here!

Several years ago (i forget how long) someone messaged me in regards to a PSA 10 Lapras I had listed for sale. I remember clearly he/she said “no one’s ever going to pay $50 for a Lapras card lol”. This convo made me laugh thinking about it.

What goes up must come down. I’ve noticed lately ebay has been basically flooded with PSA 10 1st ed. Lapras holos, something which was impossible ~2 years ago when various collectors were after complete sets. After they’ve reached their goals I simply think the demand/hype is gone for now.

That’s true @nauticads. Lapras is not the most popular Pokemon to be honest, even though the Ken sugimori art is sweeeet
