Insuring your pokemon cards

Anyone have a recommendation for good insurance companies in the UK that will cover pokemon cards?

Thanks

Is this for the cards being left in your home? We just have normal home and contents insurance, which covers PokĆ©mon cards. All we had to do was ring up our home insurance company, tell them what they were worth (and keep photos) and they were happy to insure them for fire/flood/theft. I may be wrong but I would assume most would insure them…

I am licensed in insurance and for something like this you’d need a ā€œpersonal articles policyā€. PAPs are relatively low premium and I’d go with State Farm because State Farm does very little underwriting and pays claims out at a higher rate than other insurance agencies just because they are so huge and can afford to.

Under a renters or home owners policy I think most companies would try to call Pokemon Cards art which has a limit on most regular policies of somewhere around $1500-$2500 for that.

15-2500 max if you have a fire or break in. How is that insurance that helps the OP?

The policy I recommended was personal articles policy which is separate from regular renters or HO insurance. I don’t even know if they have those in the UK, I am only licensed in NC. As for the 1500-2500, most of the policies I did while I was writing insurance had a limit on specific items. While the policy itself may have a $X of cover it may only cover some items up to a specific dollar amount.

To be honest, anything of great value is best put in a safe deposit or some storage unit of some sort. Insurance companies charge an insane amount on art, jewellery, valuable collectables, etc… In Canada anyway, I can’t speak for other countries.

I know people that pay more insuring that then their entire home… lol It makes sense though, it’s too easy for someone to claim $xxx,000 worth of cards got stolen and abuse the system.
