I'm about to lose my mind... help on V37 settings

Welp. This scanner is fucked

This is an open lid scan with your settings @prochaos , for what it’s worth, apart from the lines it looks super nice

@nish Could you contact the company or shop you bought it from for help, or send it back to exchange it for a non-defective one (I assume the exchange guarantee period is at least a year with these kind of products)? These lines look like a hardware problem rather than software imo, which seems to be confirmed if you indeed have all the same settings as in the screenshot posted above.

I’m talking to Epson support and seeing if I can fix it myself since that sounds more fun and interesting than sending it off and getting a replacement :face_with_tongue: worst case scenario they can’t figure it out and I’ll pick up a newer v550 or v600

edit: I bought this v37 off ebay for $60 which is why I’m not too worried about a loss

@nish, not sure if I can comment on thread from over a year ago, but I was curious what software you all have been using for scanning? I’m on Windows and have just been using the one called ‘Scan’, but there is little to 0 customization. Thanks!

Commenting on posts a year ago is against the rules but nobody has locked this yet :stuck_out_tongue: After the V37 didn’t work for me I bought a V600 and use the Epson Scan software. No idea if it’ll work with other brand scanners though

@nish, thank you so much! Since this thread is now recent I have no worries about responding to you! :stuck_out_tongue:

@nish, any idea if there are better third party software options, or is the Epson software sufficient? I own a 550 and it’s a little clunky (or I’m just totally a noob)

No idea, everyone I know just uses epson to save the settings, then crops the photos afterwards

I use Silverfast as the software for my scans and it works really well.

I’ll check this out and compare! The website looks pretty promising.

Appreciate the share
