I genuinely want to see the results, I feel like Pokemon cards must have some sort of value to be worth collecting, I think it is such a silly idea and I believe that 99.99% of people would dip if everything was easily obtainable and worth pennies on the dollar yet I see so many people “I would be thrilled if everything was dirt so I could collect all the different arts”
Before Covid I would. Now I wouldn’t.
If everything went to zero, I would collect even more. Think of all the sets I could complete, the species I could deep dive on, the trophies and exclusive promos that are often out of reach…
The problem is they will no longer be out of reach anymore and feel like current MetaZoo cards
I don’t buy trophies or exclusive promos because they are expensive, but because I love the art or story behind their release. If they tanked to zero, I would buy them instantly.
100% would still collect. Alot of collectors just LOVE pokemon. Thats literally it!
As a side note I dont think bringing metazoo into this scene really counts since they never really had anything going for them in terms of nostalgia/playabillity/etc, and it was all built upon broken promises with crypto involved.
Think of all the people that collected BEFORE cards were worth money as well. There are still people that collect from other tcg’s long forgotten to because they just enjoy it.
I still feel like I did when I was a kid: I was pumped when I was able to get cards, fill binders, and go trade with my friends. None of us cared how much money the cards were. Simpler times 
Wouldn’t make a difference to me other than saving me money. I love what i love and i would still collect the cards and characters i really enjoy.
If Pokemon launched a website theoretically where you can buy any card ever released in any language for $0.25 each, you would still feel the same?
As always, I collect decks because I like the boxes, I know theyre complete, and I know that if i ever really wanted that I could open and use them. Also Im a bit of a hoarder and prefer unique focus in collecting. Anyways, decks are the worst value items anyone could collect for value or investment intention. They have the same cards every time, are mass printed, and take a fairly large amount of space. If i cared about the money aspect I wouldnt have my collection.
So even if pokemon was worth nothing or less than nothing, it wouldnt change a single part of my search for decks.

Yes. I would love this as long as its authentically from them. I.E. not bootleg, and from their printers.
Yes, I would feel the exact same. I would have binders full of my favorite cards without going broke. Why would I not want that?
Imagine the sealed collection I could put together 
The thrill would shift from buying/selling/acquiring cards to the joy of organizing and displaying them.
If you enjoy simply organizing and looking at cards, you’ll be fine.
What would come next though? You’d literally finish your entire collection with nothing else to collect with the click of 1 button “Buy It Now”

Pokemon is multifaceted. I could still collect other merchandise, games, etc. while concurrently owning every card that I ever wanted.
I also collect MTG, so some of my money in this odd world would probably go there.
I’m not sure that’s true. Even if an Illustrator went to zero that doesn’t mean anyone that owned one would just give it away. You would still have plenty of items that are not readily available. It also wouldn’t magically make things appear that are nearly impossible to find (Snap Pikachu, Prerelease Raichu, TMB cards, etc).
Then I could finally afford packs to open, and spend it on my wife haha. XD
Im a species collector, and BECAUSE prices are so high it limits my fun with the hobby now.
