How would u react to these 3 messages on ebay as a seller?

Message 1. Buyer politely asks if you’d be willing to come down on the price. The price they want is close to the price you listed it at. “or best offer” is not enabled on the listing.

Message 2. Buyer asks if you combine shipping (or any other simple question) despite it being explained in the listing had they simply read it.

Message 3. Buyer messages you to correct an error in the listing (title, descript etc…) They may or may not have any intention to buy the item.

  1. tell them no ty or you could add obo and accept the offer.
  2. reply politely with an answer because you’re a good seller.
  3. say thank you.

Not too sure what kind of answers you’re looking for here though tbh lmao

I wasn’t really hoping for any particular answer. I’ve heard buyers complain when they received a rude response to these types of questions and sellers complain about receiving these types of questions.

Avoid being rude or answering any questions when you aren’t in the most “business-friendly” mood. Try to remove emotion from your response or replace frustration with kindness.

Message 1. Say no if the “best offer” amount is too low, but offer to toss in some extra cards to sweeten the deal for the original listed price.

Message 2. Offer to combine whatever listings the buyer has interest in… or just offer free shipping which ultimately results in more sales. Other questions just answer or refer to the listing description as needed. Further redundant/repetitive/soliciting messages get ignored.

Message 3. Thank you them for taking the time to message you.

  1. No reply

  2. No reply

  3. No reply, correct the listing.

Reply with kindness each time. People appreciate feedback and communication can always lead to something better.

That-a-boy. Well said:)

If you can’t be pleasant then ignore the messages. Ignoring them is better than being tough on them.

Firstly its good to give people your time, and answer questions clearly and fast if you can.

Anyone is free to message me queries, and i’m happy to answer as soon as possible every day of the week usually i am active.

  1. depends on the situation, i usually will accept between 20-35% below buy it now prices, if they want to bundle a few things together. Ask them if they have bought from you before, or if they want to bundle a few things, and we can workout a deal. Not good to just ask for a discount without giving an incentive to the seller or buyer. works both ways. people want to feel like they get a deal, so i try to give everyone the same service.

2.you should always combine shipping where possible, noone wants to overpay for postage, so it’s good to combine if you can, based on the weight of the items to their region. and it’s good to reiterate this in a pm, as it makes the customer feel more personal with you, that you took the time to write them a message. rather than be rude, and say, hey, look at our shipping description or not respond.

  1. just be patient, and answer the query, and maybe use it as a prompt to respond and buy. getting that query, or message, or click through is half the battle. so the sale is almost there if you can take the time with the customer, and be polite to them always.

golden rule in any sales / customer service - don’t let emotions get involved, or the better of you… ever.

  1. If they are polite, then I’d be willing to negotiate politely.

  2. I would say, “I do not combine, please see listing description.”

  3. I’d say, “Thanks, brohemian!”

  1. Look.
  2. I don’t dance now.
  3. I make money moves.
