How to tell pokemon base set cards to be real or fake?

I recently bought a lot of common cards from base set. i was looking through the card when i noticed the yellow border is much lighter than other base set cards i got. then i try to shine a light to the card and it was clearly see through. now im not sure if they are real or fake.
