How many packs of the top modern sets have y’all opened?

I open packs for a living…so far, far too many.

Anywhere from 8000-20000+ depending on the product since the Sun and Moon era began.

I think about a booster box each of cosmic eclipse, burning shadows, and evolutions. 3 each of ancient origins and roaring skies. 3 tins, 1 etb, and a premium collection of hidden fates. After that, nothing. I’ll probably rip the english shiny star v since I loved ripping hidden fates but I prefer just buying singles for most releases now :confused:

  • XY main sets: ~400 (1 box per set)
  • Sun & Moon main sets: ~1,000 (1 box per set, plus extra boxes for sets which I enjoyed opening)
  • Shining Legends: ~40
  • Hidden Fates: ~50
  • Sword & Shield main sets: 0
  • Champions Path: ~36 (1 box of each product)

I haven’t opened any Sword & Shield main set booster packs partly because of covid but more because after Unbroken Bonds I mostly lost interest in modern cards. Nothing really stands out any more and everything feels like filler. I only picked up the Champions Path boxes because my fiancée enjoys opening packs, otherwise I’d have likely not opened any of those either.

My typical opening is one booster box + 1 ETB and then buy singles. Vivid Voltage is the first set I ever did a larger opening for myself because of the Pikachus, and the amazing rares were a cool bonus. Was very satisfying to fill a binder almost perfectly up until full arts by just my own pulled cards, but I’ll probably only do larger openings like that about once a year going forward and stick with my roughly 44 packs for most sets

  • Some mixed sets packs in promotionnal boxes and blisters +
  • Some detective Pikachu packs. I love this mini set!
  • Hidden fates: Around 40 packs
  • Unbroken bonds: around 120 (4 booster boxes)
  • Cosmic Eclipse: Around 120 (4 booster boxes)
  • Sword and shield: around 120 (4 booster boxes)
  • Rebel clash: 210 (1 case)
  • Darkness Ablaze: 430 (2 cases)
  • Champion Path: 110 (11 ETB). Didn’t pulled the charizard. Loose a lot of money on that. It was a great learning experience.
  • Vivid: none at the moment. Ordered an ETB. Not sure if i will open more. I will probably only buy the cards I want.

Japanese sets:

  • One toxtricity promo box
  • Legendary Heartbeat: 2 booster boxes
  • Incoming soon: Shiny V star. I wanted to open 2 boxes and store the 2 other I ordered. I will see what I will receive and maybe open just one for fun instead of 2

You might think that’s bad, but then there’s me who opened (almost) no packs at all. Jumped straight to graded cards.

I opened Hidden Fates with a friend of mine some weeks back, 24 packs each, can’t say I enjoyed them very much.

Assuming modern is XY Evolutions and further, here the ones I can remember:
One Japanese Korean CP6 box; one Korean CP6 box; three Korean Fairy Rise boxes; one Korean Detective Pikachu box; two English Unbroken Bonds pre-release Build & Battle boxes; one Thai First Impact Set A box & one set B box, as well as seven First Impact GX Starter Decks; one Chinese All Stars Collection Set A box & one set B box, as well as one Random deck.

Apart from those I opened a bunch of blisters and loose packs in a lot of different languages. Mostly Japanese and Korean, but also some Portuguese, and one Spanish I received as a gift with an order.

And I now have an English Vivid Voltage and 13 Japanese Shiny Star V boxes incoming (not sure yet how many of those I’ll open).

Apart from that I also opened a bunch of Korean and English Yu-Gi-Oh booster boxes in the past two years.

It’s fun to open packs but I would be too depressed to tally it up. For the most part, it’s throwing money down the drain unless you get lucky

I usually open about a booster box worth of each modern set. Since almost all of the time I don’t get the best card pull, I get salty and stop buying that set lol. It’s really hard to justify spending so much on modern sets when I can buy vintage products. But that’s just me :man_shrugging:t2:

Get anything cool in the Thai First Impact decks? I’ve opened a couple in hopes of a Charizard, but no luck. Bought one for a friend, he got a Charizard of course. :blush:
