My fav gen 3 meme
I grew up playing gen 3, its easily my most played generation. My only gripe nowadays is that RSE needs a post-game! Its only because i want more game!! The battle frontier is cool, but i wish there was more then just competitive battling.
This is my team from my most recent playthrough of Emerald!
Also lack of physical special split kinda sucks but at least it lets u do cool things like run shadow ball on snorlax
Gen 3 is truly amazing, both equally my favorite generation of the VGC and TCG. Where my battle frontier homies at?? (Check my sig, the best frontier team you can get ;))
Ill raise you some more bangers
The frontier brain themes from Emerald and Platinum are some of my favourite tracks in the whole series
I could say so much. Hoenn is just amazing. The Pokémon, the region design, the music, etc. all some of the best in the series. Happy to have this thread.
My music contribution:
I’ve always found it funny that people’s main gripe with Gen 3 is that there is too much water. When I played 1 & 2 as a kid I remember wishing there was more of it! The first time I played Red, one of the first things I did was try to get in the water at the end of Pallet town. ![]()
To me, all of that water added a layer of mystery when I first played the game. Like what could possibly be all the way in this corner of the water? Even if it ended up being nothing, I still really enjoyed figuring that out.
I was looking through my old pics and I can’t seem to find mine from when I beat the battle frontier. I may have posted it on e4 a year or so ago. I think I lost it when I got a new phone. That took me forever I’d be sad if I had to do it again. I had all gold medals
I may have told this story before, so pardon me if redundant.
I was Sssooooo excited for gen 3 when it was coming out. Any small glimpse I could get of advertisements in stores would send me over the moon with anticipation. My mom agreed to get me a copy of Ruby or Sapphire on release day. The night before I tolde her we had to make sure we got to Toys R Us early so we could get a copy before they were sold out. We got to Toy R Us on release morning a little while after they opened. I thought for sure they would be out of copies when we got there, or at the very least, we would be pushing through mobs of people. To my surprise, no one was at the desk for new releases as we approached. I asked the cashier if there were any copies of either game left. He looked at me confused and said I was the first one to get a copy that day. I was dumfounded. I got my copy of Sapphire, turned it on right as we got home, and played into the night. After playing for the first time that day, I was convinced that it was everyone else that was wrong for not getting their copies. That was easily the best Pokemon game I played up to that point.
The only acceptable cover I find that doesn’t have actual trumpets. Pretty sure this is exactly what it sounded like in my head as kid.
Man does the nostalgia flow with these songs.
To me the GBA games are peak pokemon graphics but i think the most underrated part of gen 3 is dive. It is such a cool mechanic in the game and can lead to really cool and often secret areas in the games that hasn’t really been replicated since.
Also as a kid there was not a more exciting moment than when it was my turn to finally get the sale on the roof of the lilycove department store to dec out my base.
Easily one of the best parts of Ruby and Sapphire were the Pokemon contests. Whenever I hit a new town with a contest hall, I would get an adrenaline rush. Making Pokeblocks was an awesome mini game. And I REALLY earned that Master beauty ribbon with my ninetales, Flare.
But so worth it. Milotic was one of the mons that I swept the battle frontier with. So op
I spent so many months of my life trying to find a Feebas.
Getting Feebas is hell, evolving it is almost as bad. Then thanks to the erratic exp group it’ll go to level 100 at lightning speed. Almost anticlimactic. ![]()
It’s sad that milotic is no longer the ex grail card
