Have you ever dropped a piece of your collection?

Hey guys. I was adding some cards to my safety deposit box recently. When I went to pick up the box when I was done, it almost slipped out of my hands and it was a close save… I have a lot of sealed product and graded cards in there. I can’t imagine it would’ve been pretty if I would have dropped it on the banks hard tile floor…

I’m curious, has anyone ever dropped a booster box or a case full of PSA cards? Anything like that?

@zacheggers , I once dropped a sorting tray of about 400 1st edition Base commons I had just finished sorting. No damage, besides my pride :wink:

Never dropped/damaged Pokémon stuff but plenty of iPhones and iPads :slightly_frowning_face:

As long as the Pokémon stuff is safe that’s all that matters :wink:

I made this nifty little box out of cardboard one time and I had like 100 raw but sleeved cards in it. I was carrying it to my car with my hands over loaded down with other stuff as well. I had to do a real awkward lean and reach to get the door lever and the box tipped over and every single card fell out of it. They were numerically organized too… most of them ended up under my car resulting in me having to lay on the hot asphault and reaching under it to pick them up. It sucked. I said many cuss words. The sleeves seemed to have done their job though as none were damaged! But it was a real inconvenient extra couple minutes I spent in the parking lot of work instead of driving home!

Never dropped anything, but cut through a seal on a 1st edition Genesis Box. Received it, was excited to open the box and the knife went a LITTLE too deep (and the packing wasn’t the best) and cut a slit across the top. Ended up opening it recently and it might have been the worst neo box ever to add insult to injury… 11 holos and not a single Lugia, Pichu, Typhlosion17, Meganium10. Instead it had awesome cards like 2 steelix, 2 metal energies and 2 bellossoms.

I’ve damaged a card before but I never dropped anything. It was back in 2008 when I was 8 or 9 and I was sorting out my cards. I got up from laying on the carpet and realized my card was under my elbow when I was getting up. I looked at it and I creased the side of my Absol ex. I wasn’t mad though since I don’t care for Absol.

I drop all my PSA cards from a height of 6 feet and throw out anything that doesn’t survive.

Only the strongest PSA cards get to make it into my collection
