Has my dream card escaped me?

While I would love to buy all 10s to me the biggest thing is the art so with 9s I still get a mint copy with the same art as a 10 at a reduced price. Also because the grades are all subjective anyway you could buy a weak 10 that could be a strong 9. As many others will say buy the card not the grade as the grades are very subjective and inconsistent. Either way do what makes you happy.

I would personally recommend looking for trades, filling the gap with additional parts of your collection or cash. & you’re always going to have to pay the premiums for the things you want in life it may be a kick in the gut pulling the trigger sometime but if it’s your “dream card” go for it & I’ve personally had to push away from PSA 10s on a lot of cards and I moved to BGS 9.5 as some may cross and from my personal experience 9.5 is worth the price comparison to a PSA 9 for the condition of the card.

I have no qualms with going for a complete set of the 1st edition holos in psa 7… I don’t see near mint as something to turn your back at for 20 year old cards and they still have great eye appeal most of the time if you focus on whitening or corner blemishes as the detracting aspects of the card.
