Browsing booster packs on eBay and come across a Pokemon Skyridge Vaporeon booster pack but the title says “Read Below!!” so i go below and see…

Everywhere i look i see red flags popping up but i was curious if anyone took this route before and was successful? Would paypal still offer buyer protection if it was done off eBay as stated in the listing?
I had a seller say they could only accept my offer by PayPal. And it was a eBay listing. I almost backed out but I took the chance. That’s how I got my PSa 9 1st edition Dark Typhlosion. I’m glad I grabbed it but I was sketched out dealing off eBay. PayPal goods and services doesn’t really show the item your buying. I imagine if anything happened getting help would be a nightmare. Maybe not who knows
That’s ballsy to just straight up talk about doing the transaction off of eBay to avoid their fees in the actual eBay item description lmao. I message ppl on eBay from time to time asking if they’re on IG or ive heard of people sending pictures of a note where they write down their email or something. When a quick message can save you 10s or 100s of dollars it’s easier to see why people do it. That being said, you can get suspended and eventually banned on eBay if you have too many offenses and potentially assessed the final value fee even if you didn’t complete the sale on eBay. Always do PayPal goods and services for people you don’t know though.
@mcorey777 , i’ve never had a problem paying through g&s (outside of ebay), because i request that the seller also include the PSA cert # in the item description of the sale
I’ve only done three deals like that. One I mentioned above and the other two was a members and friends here. Both went smooth. I just didn’t like not seeing pictures of what I’m purchasing thru PayPal. Lord forbid if something did go wrong I just wonder if it would be hard to prove. I know tons of people do it. I’m just not very experienced in this
Lol, eBay won’t take too kindly to this if they notice it. Not sure for you, but for him even having that post up stating he wants to avoid the fees he could likely get his account suspended.
"Venmo is designed for payments between friends and people who know and trust one another.
You may use Venmo to pay for goods or services using a Venmo card at merchants that accept the card or through mobile websites or apps that are approved to offer Venmo as a payment option. If available, the option to pay using Venmo will appear as a Venmo-branded payment button at checkout or, in some cases, may appear after you first select PayPal as your payment method. Additionally, you may use Venmo to pay for goods and services when directly given the option to do so by Venmo.
Venmo may NOT otherwise be used to receive business, commercial or merchant transactions, meaning you CANNOT use Venmo to accept payment from (or send payment to) another user for a good or service.
Unless directly given the option by Venmo, DO NOT USE VENMO TO TRANSACT WITH PEOPLE YOU DON’T PERSONALLY KNOW, ESPECIALLY IF THE TRANSACTION INVOLVES THE PURCHASE OR SALE OF A GOOD OR SERVICE (for example, concert tickets, electronic equipment, sneakers, a watch, or other merchandise). These transactions are potentially high risk, are not allowed under Venmo’s User Agreement, and Venmo does not have a protection program for such transactions unless directly offered. So:
If you send a Venmo payment to someone for a good or service, you could lose your money without ever getting what you paid for.
If you accept a Venmo payment from someone for a good or service and we later review the payment, we may reverse the payment, meaning you could lose both the payment and the item sold. This review process may not occur until after you attempt to transfer the funds out of Venmo.
Thank you for your cooperation!"
If he’s willing to accept Paypal G&S, then you’re protected. I’m logged in today because someone on Ebay asked if I was on e4, then offered me Paypal for a lower pricepoint. Not everyone is a crook. A good way to not get flagged is to send a PHOTO with your contact info on it rather than any keywords that might get flagged.
