Grading entire sets

Do people know if it is generally better to send out the entire set at one time, to go for as many sequential serial #s as possible, or if it is better to do it in pieces, e.g., sending in secret rares or holos first and filling in the rest in subsequent submissions? Thanks for the help.

Better in what way? Irrespective of how you send them in, the cards should be graded the same way. To minimize cost, maximize the amount of cards you send in one submission and shoot for a month with a good monthly special sub $6 per card.

Thanks for the response–in the sense of maximizing total value over time, trading off against a graded set potentially being more valuable if it has sequential serial #s (and costing less to grade on a cheaper cc special) versus wasted “inventory time” if the cards sit around ungraded taking up resources while waiting for the special to come around and committing to a larger grading expenditure at once

In my experience sequential numbers are insignificant. They may even be less desireable in 10s cause it could make it look too easy to achieve,

I have to admit it would be awesome to have a full set of Gem 10’s in sequential numbers. haha

I would say a whole set with sequential numbers is something I would be willing to pay more for tbh. Not massively more but i think it would be a more satisfying collection piece.

Thanks for the replies, this is helpful!

i have 4 sets like this. 1 ex complete. 2 ex sets with 1 missing ex.
the other one is a xy breakthrough set but it had doubles in the FA.

I definitely wouldn’t send them all at once, they are supposed to be graded the same no matter what but it doesn’t happen that way. I have recently started to break open cases and re send cards in and I have had the same card get 3 different grades. PSA is not consistant at all when it comes to grading, I am familiar with BGS when it comes to sports cards and they are not consistant as well. Send more submissions out in smaller groups and I guarantee you will have better success with some submissions than others.
