On the night of a full moon, I believe, the moon rises as the sun sets. Here we see a Houndoom around dusk with the full moonswirl low in the sky between his horns and tail (left); and a Houndoom around midnight with the full moonswirl high in the sky (right):

Noticed this a few weeks back, a Southern Island Mew quadruple swirl! Got it within a collection a while back. The top left swirl half being hidden by the artwork

This thread scratches a lot of itches for me, thanks for all the great posts people. I dont know if I have anything “god tier” but I thought the placement of this one was cool, kinda fills out an empty area in between two of the subjects.
Edit: I found a nice little swirl on the top of the shadows head on this Magneton lol!
I just got this bad boy back from PSA. I love the swirl placement here.

@newcollector, as much crap as Base Set 2 gets, their Holo patterns are typically the most vivid of the Base sets. That’s a great swirl!

A few more excellent swirls/circles to add to my list:
KAMEHAMEHA!!! Possibly my favorite swirl to date.
Perfect Placement to mimic a moon in the background for Houndoom to howl at/with.
Just thought it was cool placement. no real story I can think up.
Matches Wobbuffet’s goofy nature. He is a server bringing us the swirl to enjoy. “Here you are, enjoy your swirl, sir!”

@azulryu, Yami has my heart for profile picture, but maybe I could do the signature. Hadn’t really thought about signature photos. Thanks for the appreciation though! I’ve been super lucky with solid swirls in lots I buy over here!

Hey I was doing some research on my cards and came across this post from google. I have the same exact blastoise and it looks like a double swirl in that same exact spot. I’m curious, do you know what kind of value - if any - that adds to the card? Any idea how much yours is worth? I have to get mine graded yet, but I’m thinking probably a 9 as well. Its literally the same card. 1st edition - holo background looks exactly the same and everything. Thanks!
