I’ve been looking at cosmos Holo cards in other languages just in case. Haven’t come across one yet. Here is the Houndour I was referring to, needed to make sure it was official. When I have it in hand I’ll have to capture the double swirl better.
You can see the break in the middle of the Holo pattern. The other swirl is on the tail.
Here’s an update, I got it in hand. The Holo pattern has a clear break and it starts again. The swirl is on the tail so in certain light you can see it, but the camera doesn’t like to pick up on it.
This only happens when there’s a weld line instead of a print line if I’m not mistaken. The difference being the print line goes through the holo pattern where as the weld line would break the entire holo pattern and mark the beginning of a new sheet, which is why your able to see repeating patterns like this. I could be wrong but this is my understanding of what is occurring in this situation. Thanks for sharing!
Just looked through my binder this morning for fun, and I came across this. I probably pulled this from a pack and never thought twice about it. I can’t believe I missed it. Peep the double swirl from the Holo bleed! It’s hard to get the camera to pick it up.
Not a double swirl, but the presence of a “weld line” on a 1st Ed Neo Genesis Lugia (bottom of the holo). This suggests that double swirls could be possible for Lugia, though one has yet to be reported.
i wonder if thats the closest we’ll get to seeing a double swirl Lugia. I saw one with a double swirl, but it had crazy holo bleed and the swirl was towards the bottom of the card.
