First time getting graded with PSA - what to look for?

I recently bought 141 mixed jungle/fossil 1st ed. cards as I wanted to start collecting them un-graded in binders.

After having looked at some of the cards im wondering if they are potential 9/10 PSA candidates but as I have no prior experience I don’t know what to look for and when some of you look at the pictures immediately can tell it’s not a 9 or a 10 just based on corners, centering, white spots. etc.

I plan on using Ludkins as im from EU and will most likely use their pre-grade service as a learning experience, but wanted to run some of the cards by you guys in here before I submit and dream of 9 and 10’s
I’m not trying to make or save money (as some of the cards can be bought for way less then what I can grade them for in the EU) on this but ideally if I could score 9 or 10 cards with some of these it could be the start of a PSA collection for those 2 sets as well as a learning experience.

Have you ever opened a booster pack? If so, that is what potential 9s and 10s look like.
It’s really that simple.

Only opened Sun & Moon boosters but I guess the same goes. These ones should be pack fresh as they where opened recently from boosters.
Im just wondering how much the centering matters and if some of the whitening on the cards “disqualifies” them?

Thanks!

A few white specs on pack fresh cards should still get a 9. Centering that’s like 60/40 on the front and at least 70/30 on back qualify for 9s or 10s.

I’ve picked out the ones I think has a chance of 9/10 and will ship them off to Ludkins and GradedGem to check out both their services and then ill see what comes back.

How many are you sending off to each? Is there a reason you are not sending all to one or the other?

No particular reason; I just wanted to try out both services and see how they match up.

People ignore surface damage imo. That’s the most important aspect when grading with PSA, take a lamp and reflect the surface oof the card to look for any shadows from dents on the surface.
