Hello guys and welcome to another set of starters. This time we are going into fire final stage starters. Fire got the best glow up in final stages as it’s base and middle stages have so many MEH!!! pokemon. Neverthless there are still few bad ones and will get eliminated at right time. But according to @SolemnStar theory if we eliminate the bipedal ones, the only quadrapel here is skeledirge . Hope we don’t go in that elimination order (or we do go ). Anyway let the heat start…
Charbar, Badger and Cock of the Rock are all very decent Pokemon. Infernape, although a mediocre design, is a really cool competitive mon. I foresee unreasonable amounts of pig hate. Delphox is much better than Braixen, still middling. The rest can all go at once.
Oh no…guys I really don’t like skeledirge though. I’m cooked. Appropriate that the firetypes would be the ones to cook me. But the first vote is easy for me. Skeledirge can be spared.
Incineroar was the biggest letdown in pokemon reveal history that I can recall. Maybe tied with ironically, the emboar line because it was the third generation with a fire/fighting type starter. But it had nothing to do with its design.
And what is even more ironic, is that its super obvious this design for incineroar SHOULD be a fire/fighting type. Its a literal gosh darn professional wrestler. Why is it dark type? Just because they knew they couldn’t do yet another fire/fighting type, but they just insisted on keeping the wrestler design. It was so unneccesary. A fire dark type could easily have been a 4 legged tiger with dark purple black flames, or really anything. anything. Oh how awful is incineroar. The absolute awfulness of it all.
Why why why where either of those designs not used THEY ARE SO MUCH BETTER!
This is why luxray is my favorite cat mon. One of the few cat mons they didn’t decide to make wither disturbing or furry…or both.
I remember the whole saga so clearly. The amount of people just praying PRAYING “Stay on 4 legs for the love of all that is holy!” The absolute disgust, disappointment, and dismay was palpable. The let down was massive.

Cinderace has to go first, but for all the complaints about Incineroar and anthropomorphic starters, why the hate for Skeledirge? Clearly region-inspired and actually animalistic and people want it gone?
Agreed! The croc, pig, and wrestler should go before bugs bunny does.
@SolemnStar I’ve always loved these starter leaks and they really have a way of sticking with you. You know they’re fake but sometimes I wish they weren’t.

I would have taken this broken legged, pigeon toed, swimsuit wearing, clown monstrosity over Primarina any day. Primarina is a solid design but to me it doesn’t fit its evo line at all.
I agree. I’m not a big fan of the skeleton part of its design, but it being an actual crocodile instead of (almost-)furry already puts it in my top-5 automatically out of those ten choices.
Also, I’m usually not a big fan of minor regional differences over the original, but considering the other choices, Hisuian Typhlosion is also in my top-5 (still below regular Typhlosion, obviously).
