“I’d say this is perhaps my favorite card period - if not, it’s tied for first. Himeno has a signature style that she incorporates in her art that makes it pretty easy to tell it’s her - she almost always uses these wild and wacky angles! Yes, she’s not the only one who does so, perspective is a common tool in art in general; but Himeno absolutely loves messing with the angle of the ‘camera’ for her cards, I absolutely love it.
I really enjoy the perspective on this card in particular because it characterizes the Feebas instantly - you know exactly what’s happening in this scene even before you get a close look at it. Not only can you tell this Feebas is cautious and flighty, you can immediately feel just how badly it wants to chomp on that lure!”
