Evolving Skies Market Watch

Moonbreon is starting to get a bit tiresome. It’s a cool art but there are only so many times you can see that greenish color before you gag

This is what people said 2 years ago. It never ends

Yea Im basing my guess off that moonbreons market is way more massive even for a 15k pop. And that in time it can topple team up. Dont think anytime soon though. And yea L&L has always been growing steadily and healthily thankfully. Its a great card with a much lower pop

Does anyone here know how much evolving skies booster boxes cost on wholesale upon release? I know poke center had them at $142 but I cant seem to find wholesale. Anyone here who has done business with distributors know? Is there proof of recipe just to confirm? Someone is telling me they were getting them for $69.99 which i find to be incredible. Does this sound accurate?

Very plausible. They were $80-$90 on eBay at the low point. So $70 through distribution makes sense

My LCS was selling them for $100 each, don’t know distributor price.

sounds about right for the biggest buyers to be getting those prices. Maybe its hard to believe now, but Evolving Skies was ‘just another set’ for a good little while… A good set, sure, but it was readily available for really decent amount of time so its distribution price would have been the same as battle styles etc

The modern mind cannot comprehend a bulk price for evolving skies

Although Evolving Skies was pretty hyped up from the beginning, it was available as almost all other regular sets. Even here in Austria, a place notorious for being difficult in getting cards at reasonable prices, it was available at most stores. At one of the major LCS in Vienna I bought a Booster Box on release day for 140€ (this was the price for both English and German ones). This store is basically the one with the best selection in all of Vienna but is notorious for being really overpriced. Just to give you some perspective how they usually price their items, it’s now selling Battle Partners Booster Boxes for 120€ or Evolutions Booster Boxes for 1,500€.

I later bought some other sealed products of Evolving Skies for either below msrp or at msrp. So in the US, where especially sealed product is way cheaper than in mainland Europe/Austria, I can easily imagine getting boxes for way below msrp, even though you would not believe it in todays market.

Thanks for the responses. I couldnt find ES boxes anywhere for those prices when they were released. The cheapest I was getting them for was $130. Does anyone have proof or a recipe of getting them at $69.99 - $89.99? Or even $100? It should be on your ebay purchase history. Would just like to show my cousin for reference.

like 80 bux

I purchased a ton of evolution xy booster boxes for $59.99. I got team up booster boxes for around the same price. I got a lot of booster boxes pre evolving skies for $59.99. Evolving skies though, I looked high and low for great prices and couldnt find any for the prices you guys are listing here. I believe you, I just dont know how I didnt find them for those prices. Is there anyone here with recipes of wholesale or even msrp or any kind of recipe for $69.99 - $89.99. I remeber pokemon center for the first time ever released evolving skies for $141.99. Which was a shock to me seeing as though other booster boxes before then were listed for $59.99. Im still not sure why they more than doubled it for evolving. Like I said, I just want to show the recipe to my cousin who is in disbelief of people getting them for $69.99 - $89.99. Seeing as though he has about 150 of them and he is telling me he couldnt find them anywhere for those prices. Maybe he didnt look hard enough.

Removed some sarcasm to not get anyone confused.

Pokemon Center didn’t list every set before Evolving Skies at $59,99…

I don’t have a receipt for the ES boxes I bought, it was a paper receipt which I didn’t think to keep.

I am aware of that, booster boxes were $59.99 at one point. At least in 2016 - 2019 they were. Im sure the prices changed but thats the price that was listed on poke center for a time. Then they started listing them at $141.99. Now they list them for $161.99.

I don’t think they ever initially listed a box that low even in that timeframe. Maybe on super clearance for a set or two.

It must have been a clearance or whatever it was they were listed for $59.99. Ive been looking everywhere for a pic of an xy era booster box on pokemon center but it seems they removed them all. The pic you shared is from sun and moon but still interesting to see they were listed for $142.99. The comic stores in my neighborhood were selling evolutions xy booster boxes for $59.99. And other places were selling Team Up for $59.99 - 79.99. I wonder why poke center was selling them for more than double the price of other stores. Greedy bastards… Can you possibly find a pic of evolutions xy or any xy era booster boxes on pokemon center for $142.99 like you did the pic you shared? Would be greatly appreciated.
