Estimated Print Runs 1st Edition: Unlimited

Hello Everybody,

I just wanted to get an idea on estimated print runs ratios Unlimited:1st Edition for the following sets:

Base
Jungle
Fossil
Rocket
Gym Heroes
Gym Challenge

Neo Genesis
Neo Discovery
Neo Revelation
Neo Destiny

If anybody has any useful information it would be very helpful! E.g. Base was 10:1 (Unlimited:1st Edition)

The information just doesn’t exist. At best you will get anecdotes

Base: 12:1
Jungle: 8:1
Fossil: 8:1
Rocket: 7:1
Gym Heroes: 3:1
Gym Challenge: 4.20:1

Neo Genesis: 3:1
Neo Discovery: 0.5:1
Neo Revelation: 1:1
Neo Destiny: 6.9:1

In all seriousness people have been asking this question for twenty years and there remain no statistically conclusive answers.

No one knows exact numbers but it’s generally accepted that the ratio of 1st Ed to Unlimited becomes more even as the WotC era progresses. So Base 1st Ed. had the least amount of 1st Ed. relative to Unlimited, and the Neo sets had the most amount of 1st Ed. relative to Unlimited.

An exception is Team Rocket, which WotC admitted to printing too much 1st Edition of.

You could compare the pop report ratios from 1st edition to unlimited to gain an idea, but of course this is only a forecast of what actually exists.

I read once they they printed 1st ed base for 1 day, and unlimited for years. I saved the screenshot from wotc chat logs on my other phone and will post it asap.

I’m sure nobody has exact figures, but it’s highly useful information to hear that Neo has a much higher ratio of 1st Edition:Unlimited!

Pop reports can be misleading as Jungle and Fossil and Rocket Unlimited Pops are significantly lower then 1st Edition!
