Ebay PayPal import struggle

Yeah, GSP is a double-edged sword. As a seller it’s fantastic as I don’t have to worry much about shipping overseas. As a buyer it’s a pain in the ass as not only does it include customs and VAT but it also includes a pretty extortionate admin fee.

This is why most sellers use gsp.

Reminds me of a time I sold some cards to a UK guy and after he had paid, the issue about VAT came about and I had to refund immediately when he said he would not want to pay the tax.

Since then, I have been wary of shipping to Europe - when I do so, I would always make sure the Buyer understands the extra import fees that he had to incur before asking for payment. Saves some hassle if they find out too late haha

But hey good luck and hope things work out for you - I also enjoy watching your market updates on youtube haha

As a note with the paypal refund, paypal wont automatically refund on return as they dont have a system following the tracking.
Either the buyer has to open a not received case or you will have to just refund the sale. But ofcourse, only when you have the item comfortable in your hands.

If they open a not received case before you have the item back, tell paypal he refused to pay import fees so it is being returned. They should hold off until it is delivered back.

He will not get the card unless he pays the fee so dont worry about him getting the card and a refund. You can rely on customs to not let it go unless they have their money lol

I do find it amazing how customs would make £770 for handling a parcel.

I agree with most of the people here saying don’t pay him. Customs fees for international are common knowledge. HOWEVER be very careful discussing IG or external messaging on eBay. If their algorithm detects it or a real agent reads those messages that an easy account restriction.

As a UK based collector I hope this doesn’t sour yours or anyone’s approach to dealing with international buyers. It looks like they weren’t very clear with what they wanted, most collectors are aware of these charges and would factor that in beforehand or request the full value not to be declared (which the seller is free to decline).

Horror stories like this have already made me and a lot of other people not willing to ship overseas and if I did it would be global shipping program. Even if it’s a member here because i wouldn’t want a order getting stuck in customs even if there wasnt a import fee. For example all the delays people are having with packages currently. I’ve been waiting on a card I accidentally bought from Australia for a month. It’s a small order so I’ll be patient but at this point I’m not sure if it’s even coming or if it’s sent back to seller

Guy says he wants to destroy me in the community. I have 100% positive feedback on ebay because I bend over backwards for my clients, pack every item professionally, and always quickly.

Here is his ebay also. He has 100% positive feedback. He says he has bought from Gary from pawn stars and other high profile ppl. Can anyone confirm?

Think its a given you have no issues here, whats he going to do, tell everyone in those ‘group chats’ how you insured your item for its worth and posted it to him because he bought it. Dam you inconsiderate seller

Just FYI, when receiving a message like he sent on ebay including his IG, if that was an email or phone number or something contact related, then you ended the item because you sold it, You will get a 7 day ebay suspension. If you did it again you will loose your ebay account and normally any other account linked to your address. Im sure they will add IG @ accounts to the bot soon.

@smpratte , should this buyer be added to some sort of ebay block list sticky. You guys in the US dont want him buying from you.

Guy is blocked. Not dealing with someone who tries to make me feel bad about something I have no control over

After reading the messages a simple sale is looking more like harassment or a hostage negotiation with the poor T17 being the victim and your phone and time :joy::joy::joy: if I get over aggravated with someone I rather have eBay or PayPal or a outside party deal with it. And for future sales you should damn near always keep sale on eBay. You and the buyer can eat the petty fees. It’s all part of buying and selling cards. Custom fees are also what should be done everytime. If you don’t like it buy with in your country or don’t buy the card. Basically he wants your 2.5k deal to get shrunk to a 1.8k-2k deal all because of customs. This sale is wild. With high value cards it seems smarter to pick your buyer. Be patient and wait for someone here to offer for one in the US. Cards of this kind of value everyone wants. It’s not like it’s hard finding a buyer. It’s just hard finding a buyer that’s not a pain in the ass

I’m never doing a deal over Instagram again. This guy had 100% positive feedbakc so I thought he was a professional. Idk if there’s something wrong with him, and if there is, I feel bad for talking ill of him. But I don’t think this is how someone should act. From now on all of my sales will be either on ebay or in person. That’s it

He has 600 followers and calls himself a content creator and infuencer. What is he gonna do? ”you are finished in this community” oh shut the fuck up like he is some bigshot.

Don’t stresse it my dude, you did nothing wrong. It seems like even he doesn’t know how taxes work.

Im glad you blocked him, you don’t need people like that stressing you out or being an ass.

So let’s get a few things straight. Firstly I am not a scammer. I opted for sale outside of ebay because The seller, didn’t have postage facility to uk on that platform.

I thought I’d be able to save on some import fees rather than using ebay, like I have on multiple times. With multiple sellers.

If you have never dealt with me or spoken to me or connected with me on IG, I don’t appreciate negativity spoken behind my back.

The seller offered to pay me money. I paid for the £770.88GBP fee. then Seller Went against his words, saying I’m breaking the law, and give me a lot of cock and bull. After being confronted he blocked me.

If anything the creator of this post is disloyal and a liar. He instigated offering me a sum of $500. If it was me I would off offered contribution, but I’m just a nice guy.

I don’t appreciate being labelled in this feed as a scammer or being cyber bullied by keyboard warriors. Using certified individuals like Gary to vouch for me, is not necessary. I stand for more then this slander.

This seller has not showed the full truth exposing our chats and breaking data protection laws especially when nothing law breaking has taken place.

If anything him instigating sending me money and then blocking me and trying to label me as a scammer, shows pure dishonesty on sellers account. 100% worthy? Think not.

I stand for a lot more in our community I love rather then the exploitation of collectors for personal gains. Like this gentleman here.

I’d ask the admin to kindly remove, as this is misleading and miscommunicated information which will affect any future bridges within the community, being built and my charity work I’m doing for the community.

Should ANYONE on this feed have and issues they like to discuss with me Feel free to speak to me DIRECTLY on IG @ihypebeastworldwide.

PS I’d rather buy supreme stuff from legit kosher sellers then a bunch of keyboard warriors, and cyber bullies.

I hope those people complaining about GSP the other day see the shit we have to deal with which is why we use GSP or just refuse to sell to Europeans.
