There’s something about Mewtwo’s pose and artwork in TRR that other Mewtwos lack. Best Mewtwo artwork, unsurpassed till today.

I’m a fan of the Vstar gold cards ever since they released (though they are not valuable cards but I still buy and send them for grading) and I had been waiting for Mew, Umbreon, Espeon, Rayquaza, Mewtwo and Lugia versions. So the Gold Mewtwo Vstar is a dream and wish came true for me! :smile:

Shining Mewtwo is nice to have, not much to comment though.

Mewtwo :goldstar: is 4th for me but out of the 3 votes.

I thought Mewtwo had a lot of nice cards, but looking through these, a lot are just okay. I think I ended up voting for a lot fewer than I thought I was going to vote for. One of my favorites is the Brilliant Stars Mewtwo—thought that one would have more votes than it has.

Art popularity is also showing to be mostly independent of how expensive the card is, which is one of modern’s greatest strengths. They’re a very affordable and attractive entry into collecting

Even my vote for the Expedition, by far the best card here, feels dispassionate. It’s not as if I don’t like Mewtwo, I always have, I’m just not that excited about him in cardboard form.

This is also my #1 favorite. Brings me back to the days when you had to go into the cave to find it after reading about it throughout the game.

What these threads continuously show is how awful CGI art - or at least the companies that get hired for them- is.

Just get rid of them already. It’s the cheapest looking tacky crap that is outdated before it is even revealed.

Maybe I’ll get some flack for this but I don’t like the Gold Star Mewtwo at all. Something about the face makes it look like a twee Disney or Pixar character.

Anyway, I like a lot of these. Not really all the crappy CG full/half arts but still a good spread of old and new for me. The 151 regular holo + the AR are the best in a long while.

Shining Mewtwo is probably my top pick though (one of my favourite cards of all in general) and I also really like the VHS promo by Benimaru Itoh (always thought that guy was a CGI artist though going by the Coro Steelix?) and Chris Rush Black Star.
