I’ve been trying to get the Japanese Espeon in a 10 and sellers are reluctant for less than $1k. It certainly feels like an expensive card.
I meant more that TPC/i are overly dependent on a core set of Pokemon to sell their sets. And seeing that Mew(s) and Charizard(s) continue to beat out the rest, the well hasn’t run dry.
Ahh I missed participating in this one, but the results don’t surprise me at all, and it going through this list is a reminder of how seriously underrated so many of these cards are still. So many good memories pulling some of these cards but it was just such a shame most of my friend groups had dropped out of collecting before the ex era really got going. Dragonite from ex Dragon is a personal number 1.
ah i see what you mean. fwiw, typhlosion was rated as one of the worst, so i’m still not certain the analysis works completely
yeah i remember seeing the milotic being the big hit in emerald boxes. it’s funny how big of a gap there is between many of the big cards from this era depending on language.
Frlg Charizard didn’t do too hot either so there’s gotta be more than just value to rankings
It’s a love/hate card. I also think it’s more popular among people who collected during the ex-era.
