E4 Pokémon VGC Tournament - Generation 9: VGC Top Cut & Little Cup

VGC 2024 Reg F Swiss Bracket: Round 2: Fri Jun 26, 2026 - Sun Jul 12, 2026

Live VGC 2024 Reg F Bracket

Hello, VGC players! A very interesting first round of swiss, with every single set ending in a 2-0 victory for the winner. Despite what the game count would suggest, there were many close sets and interesting plays. I’d recommend checking out some of the replays if you haven’t already.

The second of four rounds of Swiss is now upon us. All players have until Sunday, July 12, 2026 at Midnight (PST) to complete their best of 3 match.

@bule vs @wisewailmer
@tstark20 vs @ddk
@garret_phung vs @JimTrainer
@caughtatpoint vs @silversnorlax204

@Tryson21 vs @lyleberr

@Caterqu vs Lylebot*
@DarthEevee vs @Swinub
@mrbubbles vs @cosrob
@Littu vs @festa

Second Round Pairings

Players that won their first round were randomly matched against players who won their first match (1-0 set count).

Players that lost their first round were randomly paired against other players that lost their first match (0-1 set count).

There was one pair up/pair down due to uneven numbers in both groups, so a player with a 1-0 set record (Tryson21) was randomly chosen to face a player with a 0-1 set record (Lyleberr).

*Lylebot is a bot (piloted by a human player) that uses a team of Pokemon only knowing the move Metronome (and Protect). It’s a filler account to ensure we have an even number of players so there isn’t one leftover player each round.

Best of luck VGC players, and have fun! :sparkles: :top_hat:

Played back to back VGC and Singles sets with @wisewailmer gg wp

VGC:
G1 [Gen 9] VGC 2024 Reg G: wisewailmer vs. bule on e4 - Replays - Pokémon Showdown!
G2 [Gen 9] VGC 2024 Reg G: wisewailmer vs. bule on e4 - Replays - Pokémon Showdown!
WiseWailmer’s moveset had huge amount of flexibility on how he can approach the matches, so I had to make prediction here and there. His Hyper Offense bring has scary potential, any crit or surprise KO on his side will basically enable it to snowball on his favor, I was lucky the RNG ended up minimal.

Singles:
G1 [Gen 9] OU: bule on e4 vs. wisewailmer - Replays - Pokémon Showdown!
G2 [Gen 9] OU: wisewailmer vs. bule on e4 - Replays - Pokémon Showdown!
Based on G1 I thought I have line that’s basically quite safe to play to my advantage, however on G2 WiseWailmer made amazing reads so the match was very close until the end.

good game!

Wow, some absolutely amazing sets going down lately. Definitely check out the replays if you haven’t already :fire:

Happy to share the Gen 9 tourney badges, once again courtesy of the :artist_palette: :goat: @decoypalmette. That Wiglett is such a mood. I know I say it every time, but this is some of their best work!

Champion Badges & Finalists
For the #1 player of VGC and Singles. Top 3 will also receive a finalist badge.

Little Cup Winner
If you didn’t make top cut in VGC or were eliminated before Top 8 in Singles, you’ll get to compete for a chance to win this.

Participant Badge
Awarded to anyone who signed up for either bracket and played at least one set.

King Slayer Badge
Awarded to anyone who bests the previous tournament champion (@bule in Singles & @ddk in VGC).

This badge is going to be given out like candy, at least on the VGC side

Bracket Buster Badge
Awarded to the players who cause the largest upsets in Singles and VGC (for VGC, this will be in the final bracket + Little Cup once seeding has been determined after the Swiss rounds)

Can’t wait to see who ends up winning these this time!

I think you overestimate me based on past results, and underestimate the numerous sharks in the water who have competed in Gen 9 VGC

My strategies are usually pretty basic in these later tournaments, some of the other competitors seem to understand much more advanced tech

Only goal that remains is to protect my overall 3rd place podium spot from Tryson

This was true in the past, but you underestimate how much of a difference actually playing Gen 9 VGC makes. Tryson, Bule and Caught all competed in that and are far better players than me (Jimmerr and Garret_Phung arguably too, going off their games).

I really just know Gen 1 - 4 & 6 Singles and Gen 8 VGC.

That second game was close :joy:

The game was close because I told Caterqu he couldn’t metronome duel you (since that would break the rules of changing teams).

Feel free to have an unofficial metronome duel and post replays here :laughing:
