vs. @lyleberr highlight to me was the part where I almost got hit by a sleep boosted hex from a ferrothorn

Thanks for the games! You played great even with all the shenanigans i was throwing at you and bad luck on status conditions.

Crazy set between @silversnorlax204 and @SeasidePokemon in VGC just now. Both players were running the exact same team but it ended up being insanely interesting with tons of mixups.

With this, Swiss round 2 has concluded! Pairings for the third round will be up shortly!

VGC 2021 Swiss Bracket: Round 3: Tue Mar 3, 2026 - Sun Mar 22, 2026

Hi VGC players, once again you guys did a fantastic job finishing your matches early. As such, the extra time will be put toward the next phase of bracket. There were some absolutely crazy matches in the second round, and I expect the third round to be even more intense as we move one step closer to the final bracket!

The players with a 2-0 set record are sitting comfy but they aren’t guaranteed to make it into the final bracket unless they can secure another victory. The 1-1 group is where a lot could change: winners will be well-positioned to make it into the final bracket. The 0-2 group has a tough path ahead of them but they aren’t out of the running either if they win their next two rounds.

This is the third of four rounds of Swiss, before we move into the Top 8 Cut/Little Cup final bracket phase. All players have until Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Midnight (PST) to complete their best of 3 match.

How Pairings Worked

For the third round of Swiss, players with a 2-0 set record were randomly paired with other players with the same record. Same for players with 1-1 and 0-2 set records, respectively.

As there was an uneven amount of players in both the 2-0 and 0-2 groups, two pair ups/pair downs occurred where a player with a 2-0 set record (JimTrainer) was randomly selected to face a player with a 1-1 set record (festa). The same happened with a 1-1 set record (Silversnorlax204) and a 0-2 set record (MrBubbles).

Repeat matchups from any previous rounds were avoided by the system, as were players who had previously paired up/paired down.

Best of luck VGC players, and have fun!

Had excellent VGC games with @lyleberr . Finally had a win in VGC format with 2-0, but it went closer than it looks. Anyone who misses second game replay will really miss one good game…
