So @DarthEevee and I played back to back sets since the bracket was reset after my last win.
in the grand finals I managed to sneak by 2-1! Which officially closes our gen 5 singles tournement bracket as well as marks the first torunemt win on e4 that didn’t come from DDK. Thank you to all competitors and GG to Darth

It was a smaller bracket this time, but one of the most exciting E4 tournaments we’ve seen to date. We have a brand new champion for the first time ever along with many new faces who competed for the first time and will hopefully continue to battle in future tournaments.

Much congratulations @wisewailmer. You played really well. A bracket reset has never happened in Grand Finals till now so really amazing plays by you. Well deserved champion!
This was a fun tournament to play but also to watch. The games were really intense and it came down to the wire for most sets. A lot of great comebacks were also witnessed. Thanks @ddk for organizing like always and everyone else for being an awesome sport at paricipating. Congratulations to the rest of the top 8.

Thank you mr bubbles for sending me your spirit energy at the end of my game with DDK so that latios wouldnt miss draco.
Lots of teams made for this one. I think I ran a completely new team for every battle and I liked every one of them. Gen 5 was a good one with so many options. It really feels like the gen where pokemon transitioned from older to newer battle mechanics wise.

@wisewailmer, after 5 games played b2b2b I can say with confidence you knew what you were doing and hearty congrats. @ddk thanks for organizing and giving me the nudge on pokemon day to jump back in. These games were fun and everyone had a surprise waiting. Also a good reminder that OU is NOT VGC. Wise caught me two different times with things that I should’ve remembered aren’t important in this format. It was fun to use mons I wasn’t used to, and I think I might be the only person who used the same team the whole time am glad using the same team the whole time was largely not a liability.
