@Tryson21 and I just played our VGC games. I won 2-0. Couple of unfortunate crits but that’s how the game goes sometimes.

I knew VGC would be super hard against your team. My biggest chance was some freeze since my special team doesn’t have much damage output. Lucky for me I got only one… on the one lum berry pokemon. Also stupid metagross not being able to finish game 2 here just like he couldn’t against seaside makes me salty

Just got done playing some sweaty games with @mrbubbles and the winner is… Me, by a result of 2-0.
Good games that really had me worried, game 1 I didn’t expect the leads that were there. Game two I was positioned correctly… but I’ll let the replay speak for itself.

I think this is a bit underplaying how well you played. GG’s to you and I really had a lot of fun. Your picks of 4 were really good. Thanks for the games.
Lastly, this whole tournament (both singles and doubles) has been a great experience. Not only to bring out the competitive spirit but also has helped me personally to put myself a bit more out there in the social aspect. I really liked hanging out on Discord voice chat (although muted) just to be able to catch all of the live games and learn from everyone more experienced. I love how everyone goes out of their way to explain the game concepts and mechanics and the thought process on why someone chose this as their Pokemon for battle. I realize that more than the winning, the camaraderie aspects within the competition for me has been super special.
Thanks again @ddk and everyone else who competed. You guys make the tournament what it is and I hope to see a lot more competition in future editions.
With that, can’t wait to crush some of you guys in the next gen!

@Tryson21 and I will be playing our Gen 4 OU Winners Final match the same day on 2024-10-26T22:00:00Z.
But there’s a twist! Both of us have agreed to not bring Jirachi on our teams! Why? Because Jirachi is kinda cringe. There’s bound to be lot’s of silly trash talk and even sillier plays since we know each other irl so make sure to catch the match live.
