E4 is back up! The server was down for a few hours, but is back up and should be good to go now!
If you were curious, it was cause by a cascading set of failures starting from the cloudflare issue and affecting our website host
Thank you @pfm! One
SMH my head shakingly.
You mean to tell me the forum is hosted offsite in a soulless server farm, and NOT a lovingly crafted homemade server, cobbled together from scraps and located in your parent’s basement?
Spoke too soon
Dang I thought cloudflare was like the Northern Lights. That would be ![]()
damn, I gotta work today?
I felt like 1/4th of the internet was down because of the Cloudflare issues yesterday.
But apparently it was ‘just’ ~7.5 million websites:

At my job, multiple applications were down as well. Coincidentally we moved some of our applications to Cloudflare two weeks ago. Great timing.
Jenkins was also down. ‘Luckily’ I could continue most of my work as software developer, since we mostly work on local machines. One of our other departments were bored without much to do, though.
And I’ve heard someone mention CardMarket was also down because of it.
Ah well, good to see it’s back up again.
And it’s probably a good thing E4 runs on Cloudflare. For those unaware, Cloudflare is used as a base for websites to protect against most known security vulnerabilities and improve basic performance issues, so it’s honestly good to see we use it, instead of trying to close all those known issues manually or with a potential less-secure alternative. ![]()
Thanks for the update Scott and Scott. ![]()

It’s crazy how much of the internet is run on these servers. I will say this is the first time this has happened in the 3 years of using them. I kept saying that to myself as meditation when I couldn’t check E4! ![]()

My money’s on azure, (cuz MS) but an asian telecom or ISP, IaaS might be a good bet too, considering current IR. ![]()
