Around what cert era did PSA redesign their pack slabs? Trying to figure out if the packs up for auction this month were natively in those slabs, or if they originally were in the folded over design and later recased to the new design?

I was actually going to post those sometime this week. They are for a fellow E4/patreon member. I can’t speak for them, but I doubt they could have earned PSA 9-10 grades if they were previously in folded cases. I just received a submission back of base set packs that were pulled from a box and none went higher than PSA 8.

If you just do a reholder though, they don’t change from the previous grade I thought!

Hiya! The packs are mine. I graded the Japanese Skyridge Booster and the Demo Pack myself which went straight to the new case. The other ones (Base through Neo 4) I can’t say for sure.
As for the cert numbers I think that it’s a bit muddy with the transition from old to new slabs. These have certs from right around that time so they could have been ‘reholders’. Or they could be from someone who was keen on jumping onto the new slabs (for good reason - those old slabs were hideous).

Today we have Worlds Promos, including the rarest card in the block, a PSA 9 Champion Stamped Champions Festival Card! The Champion stamped was only awarded to the Winner of the Tournament. The total distributed is 6-12 copies!

Here is one of the most regal Pokemon cards, PSA 10 Giovanni’s Scheme 20th Anniversary Card! This was only available in Japan for the monthly promotion of the 20th Anniversary. This was the blueprint for all subsequent releases; Master Battle, Precious Collector, etc.

Last post for the August block includes the most valuable card this month, PSA 10 Art Academy Pikachu Card:
As many know, only 100 copies were awarded to the winner. That winner was a member of E4 during the contest, and their kid ended up winning the ultimate prize of having their art immortalized in a card!
Also Here is the Champion Stamped Worlds card again, it is still incredibly low. I’ve sold copies for almost 10 times the current bid:

I really thought all your trophies were 0x-2x certs so it’s very cool to see something graded so recent. Amazing card and hopefully it breaks the $175k recent sale price!

Thanks! And nice detective work! But that’s more to do with the fact I stopped showing my collection in 2016-17, which was around that cert era. I actually just had a trophy return from psa last week, but I keep that stuff private these days!

Oh I mentioned this in patreon but will share it here as well, PWCC recently updated their site and added 2fa. The update froze withdrawals so consignment payments are slightly delayed.
