e-Reader Preservation Project - Need help for final stretch!

Hi all, I represent the e-Reader project.

A preservation project dedicated to the preservation of Nintendo e-Reader cards, primarily through high quality scans in association with video game preservation non-profit Hit Save!

You may have heard of us before from when we helped preserve @qwachansey 's Battle Road 2002 Male No.1 Trainer card, which also allowed him to view the data on the card (A huge thank you to him!):

Recently, we’ve been making some incredible headway, and have almost preserved every Non-Pokémon TCG related e-Reader cards.
We’ve accounted for 95% of a total of around 1,700 cards between the US and Japanese sets.

Of released the cards missing in each set, we are currently missing:

  • 61 English cards
  • 122 Japanese cards

You can find a list of those cards here:

English: Click Here
Japanese: Click Here

We are only looking for Holos and non-holos that match these IDs, not reverse holos.
For the Japanese set, 1st Edition cards.

We are now reaching out to the community for help, in hope’s of covering these last few cards.

There are a few ways you can help.
They might seem somewhat particular, but is important that for the purposes of archival the scans of these cards remain consistent throughout.

They are:

  • If you own any of the missing cards, and also own an Epson v550, Epson v600 or Epson v850 scanner,
  • If you own several of these cards (or one or a few particularly hard-to-come-by cards) and are willing to spend time scanning them but do not have a scanner,
  • If you own several of these cards and are comfortable potentially sending these to us temporarily to scan.

If you fit any of these criteria please get in contact via Private Message or via the E4 Discord: eReaderProject#5026 and we will discuss further details and send instructions.

Any cards knocked off this list would be a massive help. Our current top priorities are:

  • Battle Road 2002 Male No.3 Trainer
  • Battle Road 2002 Female No.1 Trainer
  • Battle Road 2002 Female No.2 Trainer
  • Battle Road 2002 Female No.3 Trainer
  • K-Zone Groudon EX & Kyogre EX
  • The Starter Trio Lottery set

And those not on the lists but are worth preserving:

  • The full FPO set
  • The full SAMPLE card set
  • Any Japanese Prototype e-Reader cards

Why have we chosen these cards?
When we first started this project, we only included cards with ‘dotcode’ information on them (The small data strips on the bottom and sometimes sides of the cards).
Of the publicly released cards, we now only have 4 of these left to preserve: Male No.3 Trainer, Female No.1 Trainer, Female No.2 Trainer and Female No.3 Trainer from the Battle Road 2002 event.

However, as we began to complete sets outside of the TCG library, we felt we were doing the TCG a disservice, as a few of those sets also contain cards which do not have a dotcode.
As such, we expanded our scope, and began to include cards which did not have a dotcode on them also.

This begged the question: What is an e-Reader card?

We eventually settled on the following criteria:

  • If it is in the same set as or contains an ‘e’ symbol or dotcode
  • If it has an ‘e’ symbol on the packaging

If this thread is not in the correct section, feel free to move it; this was the section we were advised to post in.

Thank you for your time.

I have 6 of the 32 Expedition PSA 9 holos, all 32 Aquapolis holos and crystals in PSA 9, I also have all 32 Skyridge holos and 3 of the 6 crystals in PSA 9. Problem is no scanner. Same issue which is preventing me from adding half of my Skyridge cards to the PSA set registry. (Previous owner never took them off)
