Does color fading affect grading?

Hi all,

Do you guys know if color fading on a card will have an impact on overall grading? Particularly at PSA 10/9 level? I have a card that I am thinking of regarding, which is pretty damn strong, but color fading seems to be somewhat significant. I only realized this because I have multiple copies of this card. Just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with this.

Eye appeal affects grading. Anything that makes a card less appealing will reduce its potential grade.

Ask yourself, would you want a card that was full colour and high gloss, or one that is faded? That should answer your question.

Color fading has been known to dock a few grades or more. It just depends on how bad it is I suppose. If you upload a pic we can help
