Do you think 1st Ed printing would curb the "fear" of reprints?

Another consideration here: most of the outside “flipper/investor” people clamoring for 1st ed printing are being a bit misguided by thinking it gives them additional money making opportunities. In this hypothetical world, they would somehow have access to $100 1st ed boxes and be able to sell them for $500 on eBay the next week. While the $500 boxes would be a reality, 99% of these flippers would never have access to the cheap $100 1st ed boxes because they’ll all go to people who have the connections. The market will naturally price in the rarity/demand for these boxes and the hopeful flippers would be forced to buy the same expensive product on eBay.

I feel like reintroducing 1st ed will cause more problems than it fixes (if it fixes anything).

I dislike the logic of “protecting” investors/speculators. You see this type of rhetoric a lot with real estate too. If you’re engaging in speculative behavior and end up losing money, that’s the reality of the game. If you’re buying 151 on release at 3x the retail price and stashing that supply away, then don’t be suprised when the lack of supply leads to a reprint and the price tanks. You made a risky gamble and lost. I’m not interested at all in protecting the short term flippers when a set is relatively new.

This is the best comment i’ve read about these topics. I don’t know what causes it but people who flip a lot of times seem to have a stance that they have some sort of special rightness to their actions and any actions that hurt their flipping is wrongdoing against them, like a walk-on character behaving like a lead role.
