Do base set thin stamp c/u cards exist?

@mikejofthecoast, There is a quick tag option on the desktop. You can just click these names and it will insert the tag for you:

Love this feature very helpful when a lot of usernames are different than link names

Although @mikejofthecoast briefly mentioned it, I haven’t seen a link to my article yet, so here it is: All 1st edition stamp variations.

To quote the relevant part for the Thin stamps:

And as already mentioned by @cinnaminhbun , I bought the Thin stamp Pikachu from the person he sold it to, which is now (as PSA-7) in my collection

ohh, that’s perty

if only :disappointed_relieved::disappointed_relieved:

Quick question; are base set the only set to have stamp variations? Or could I have a thin/grey/3d stamp on a jungle or fossil card?

@queendrifloon, They only appear in base set.

grey stamps can occur in any set with a 1st edition symbol, very rare you see them outside of base set though

Here are some more. Another private collector has a bit more stashed away.

This Red Cheek Pika: rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F233221730642

Looks suspiciously thin as well :sunglasses:

omg I’ve been looking for abra and kadabra for while. I tho they never exist =V

You might have trouble finding a Kadabra, there are only a few known examples of uncommon thin stamps

Looks more smudged than Thin to me, if I’m completely honest. Coincidentally enough I did purchase another PSA-10 Red Cheeks Pikachu this week that kinda looked like a Thin stamp as well. Even with additional pictures from the seller I couldn’t tell for sure. It’s definitely thinner than a regular Thick stamp, but I think slightly thicker than my Thin stamp Yellow Cheeks I posted on the previous page. Decided to buy it regardless. If it is a Thin stamp Red Cheeks Pikachu I’m extremely happy, and if not, it’s still a nice PSA-10 1st ed. Red Cheeks Base Pikachu for my collection.

Only the Base Set has Thick and 3D stamps, and most 1st edition stamp variations.

All other sets are always Thin, but it is indeed possible to have a Grey Thin stamp. I’ve got a Neo Genesis Pikachu with a Grey stamp, and I’ve also seen a bunch of Gym Heroes 1st edition cards with a Grey stamp before.

Apart from that there is of course the “d” edition error for the Jungle Butterfree.

PS: All this is also mentioned in my article.

Yeah, I did some comparison pics of it to your/my old one and it was close, but I’d have to agree it’s more smear than thin. Too high of a price to risk for a low priority side collection, but if you grabbed it - lmk if it ends up being thin!

It’s already sold, and I’m not the one who bought it. But if the other PSA-10 1st ed. Red Cheeks Pikachu I have incoming has arrived I will tag you; hopefully it is indeed Thin, although I kinda have my doubts.
