It’s already at record price and still going
If you were going to sell a weak 10, now’s the time
It’s been that way for atleast a few months.
But team rocket returns set has been trending higher than the original team rocket cards.
I’m still on the sidelines for the most part. I enjoy the idea of new sets coming out, being available and affordable. I do like pack opening. So I’m just parting with stuff quite a bit now. Hopefully this all resolves soon. The end of sw/sh through twilight masquarade was very chill, and fun. Its given me some time to organize, do some selling to my local store(victims of tons of theft sadly).
I know it feels like forever sometimes, but it has helped me do other things. So thanks crazy market I guess? I’m doing other things again that I enjoy and are good for me.
sorry tidal. I often click the reply to user at the bottom instead of the reply to thread button opn accident. insert dent head wojak
i would just sell everything u can while prices remain high (esp moderns ) before they really start dropping. pretty ez to pick it back up later at pwcc et al not like the olden days when basically everything was cheap but no one auctioned nothin
Wait till it gets paid
Mostly obscure chinese grading companies, but given that the print quality is the same as japanese my guess is that most likely they would also get 10 if you regrade them at PSA. As for the ebay price i wouldn’t count it as representative of the market, it’s too soon.
Meanwhile, Japanese PSA 10 is 50 bucks. Appreciate its significantly less rare etc, but aside from the language, the card art is identical.
Is English really worth 200x Japanese these days?
With respect to language Japanese has an estimated 123 million speakers, whereas English has an estimated 1-2 billion speakers, let’s say 1.5 billion. Meaning the potential English audience is 12x larger than the potential Japanese audience.
This doesn’t take into account many other factors though such as card rarity. Personally I don’t think the 200x valuation is justified.
I doubt the people buying that even know there’s a JP variant.
Not necessarily; some grading companies don’t dock points for cards being off center, for example, since it is a printing process defect rather than a conditional difference. You can’t assume a 10 at one company equals a 10 at another.
you’re thinking about japan ARS ? Off centered is easy to see on the photos, given the print quality of chinese i’m quite confident these obscure chinese grading companies 10’s would translate well to psa. We’re not talking about english here.
Buying a 10 from an obscure Chinese company might be the smart move - value wise. Same is true for Modern Japanese in CGC 10. But generally people prefer PSA 10s and seem to want to pay more than any other brand’s 10. (Even if the condition of the card is exactly the same.) I doubt they want go through the effort of a cross grade
