Definitely has! A lot of the PSA 9s are still under 1k . Do you project any moment upwards for the 16 holos or certain cards this year?
Also these names are just putting a stich in me from laughing

The market is so wild right now that if you come across Pokémon packs, ETBs, or other items in a small online store for less than the competition, it’s suspicious (I guess it’s a win for me though?)
Dang should of realized this. I take it back this is a sane market afterall

What are the odds that pokemon is rising due to stagflation risks, and people see it as an alternative investment and hedge against inflation, while being a side hustle that provides a secondary income stream.

I 100% agree that it’s bringing huge loads of attention to the market, but it still doesn’t feel enough to drive the market like this.
My 2 cents:
Many of the high end PSA 10 sales for record prices are being driven by people quitting crypto and putting their losses/profits into those assets now that (it seems) that bull market is done.
Also, the volume of people and transactions for modern cards I’ve seen in events in the past few months trascends logic. I’ve seen several underpriced vintage cards remaining unsold while people just go for modern cards in mint condition to grade and flip.
This reminds me quite a bit of the early covid times where people were rotating liquidity from a different asset class to Pokemon + it’s a side hustle for many that drives modern sealed → modern tcg → vintage cards

ppl are also buying out full arts moderns in psa 10 for some reason
i can confirm since all my xy full arts got bought out as well in the vault. this is kinda weird thing to buy out and i think there are much better cards to target if u are gonna do a buyout but w/e i dont mind selling to the modern pokebros

Very low in my opinion. Maybe I could buy that a very tiny subset of the market is thinking that way but I would bet the vast majority of the population doesn’t even know what those words mean.

I agree strongly. Maybe some small number of 5 figure+ sales that happen are people making large market moves but the vast majority of activity is just not that.

Crazy market. Listened to the MMR this afternoon and was reminded about the eBay >$1000 fee reduction promo. Joked to my finance I’m gonna list my poncho above last sold and see if it sells by promotion’s end (tomorrow). Sold in less than 2 hours. Was thinking about cashing it in for something bigger for a few months so I’m glad I got a great deal but now I’m just wondering how much more above market I could have listed for it to go

Those are all my PSA tens he was selling for me. I couldn’t believe it when I opened my phone yesterday and saw a dozen of my cards had sold. Those say for weeks until this buyer came along. Idk if they got their tax return or what but I’m not complaining. It’s not true that all of them sold though, he still has a few up for me that haven’t sold
