There’s no print lines or scratches not even a small one
Exactly. So just send it in-case to BGS with minimum grade of 9 so you don’t get screwed with a downgrade and be happy. It’s a clean card from the pics, it should be fine. I’d be much more worried about cracking it, possibly damaging it, and then getting a downgrade.
I think the moral of the story is that for many cards the value is in the card itself and not anything superfluous like the slab or the grade. Which is why the general answer will be to just do what you want to, because you have the card you really love regardless of what case it’s in.
If you’re worried about getting below a 9 when cross-grading then the other option is to just buy a copy already graded

If you’re patient you might even be able to get a 9.5 around the same price
Ouch! That’s a tough one.
I think the moral of the story is that all companies will have human error/variability in grading. It becomes even more difficult when they have to provide 4 additional subgrades.
If you prefer the BGS case for your cards, that’s awesome. You can play the crack and resubmit game or you can be patient and wait until another person grades the card you’re looking for.
If a gen mint 9.5 comes up I’d buy that. I’m sending in 5 cards and thought I’d crack this and send it in and hope for a 9.5 or 9 and to have it in the case. I am sending in venasur, Blastoise, Charizard from Base 2 and an Italian birthday pika I recently bought. I’m doing a trade and the other guy would prefer the big 3 graded for some reason but if I grade them it’ll be an even swap instead of raw plus cash. If I provide pics of the big 3 would you let me know your opinion on the grades they might achieve?
Looks fairly strong, this one seems to grade easier than most Neo holos. Definitely worth a shot, but I’d be pretty content with a PSA 9 as I just simply don’t own any BGS graded Pokemon. For personal collection that you don’t plan to sell though, it might be worth the effort. I’ve seen PSA 8s become BGS 9.5 a few times.
I think it definitely can get a bag 9.5 except the centering might be 8.5 idk. The yellow borders does help with it.
As someone who cracks PSA slabs to grade with BGS, id crack for the best chance at a bump.
Looks clean man!
Recently bumped this yellow slabbed blasty from a PSA 9 to a BGS 9.5
Anyone asking why would op bother doing it:
A) fun
B) nice to have a card you enjoy in 3rd party recognised top grade
C) value bump from PSA 9-BGS 9.5 is a thing
Do you polish cards before submitting them to BGS?
Not at all.
Read my posts again in the thread.
I actually say it doesn’t work.
I also submit frequently to grading companies and would rather not get into trouble.
Nice! Did you see bgs recently lowered prices and removed the no subgrade option from all tiers except bulk? Probably very few people care about the no subs but you know me. I still do the non sub when I use bgs from time to time
I did… Personally I don’t see why they would get rid of the option
Also unsure why they thought it was worth lengthening turnaround times and whilst cutting pricing.
Imo should have kept pricing the same, same options for subgrades etc. and just found a way to reduce turnaround.
I’m excited for bgs for the future though, seems like they finally have a fire under their asses!
I will say my last sub was done in like 5 days and did not have the issues of scratches cases, loose labels, chipped cases, smudged labels, crap in sleeves that I used to have
That’s awesome. And yeah I’ve also had really nice quality control from them in recent subs.
Their grading was also very fair.
I had one card clean as a whistle but come with a 5.5 surface as it has a dent in it. Fair enough.
I also think they are doing a lot of work with customer service - I have direct contact with a sales rep now which is awesome and any issues they get back to me same day usually.
I pretty much stopped using them because it took 8 months to get a response to my email question after submitting some cards for review. Then after that happened they removed customer service phone lines for a while. Good on them to implement customer service again
Yeah I can see they are rectifying a lot of issues. Here is the email I received from my new rep.
Not gonna lie it was a nice surprise and he’s been really really helpful and fast at replying.
What service tier did you use and what was the door to door time?
What are your thoughts on the centering of my card?
