Completing sets y/n

I am trying to complete the original TR set, and maybe southern islands. I have access to bulk 151 should I bother trying to complete this set or is it going to be a worthless set if unsealed?

If you want to complete it, complete it! Finishing a set can feel very rewarding

This is not a question that we can answer. If you want to finish 151, then you should do it.

151 as a set will not be worthless. It has SIRs and IRs that are worth money and will retain some value.

If this is a discussion on whether completing a set is worth it, that’s very personal. Back in XY I used to complete sets, but as sun and moon hit and we got many many variations of the same card and completely massive sets I just stopped entirely and collect only the cards I really want from each set. Especially now that sets barely have a theme like the sets of old would

Hope that helps

Yes, it’s personal but I was looking at it from a financial perspective. I already have a lot of rare team rocket cards and the set is valuable raw, not just sealed and slabbed. So I though it was worth completing.
I have access to some bulk raw 151, I was wondering if it is worth trying to complete when I don’t already have some of the rares. Also I’m not even sure if this set would be worth anything raw in the future. I am skeptical of modern, even 151.

Completing sets (in binders), is one of the big things that has and will keep me in this hobby for years to come. Seeing the gaps slowly get filled and finally brought to completion brings a lot of joy and fulfillment as I go. So the short answer for me is yes, but I guess it could depend what your personal goals are, there’s no ‘wrong’ answer to this question exactly.

I think that completing sets is a bad financial decision anyway. It is almost never better selling a complete set than just selling each of the rare cards individually
