If this didnt read so much like copium, id still say “no”
Yeah, just make the pull rates better. If it took half as many boxes to complete the set, then there would be less incentive for “hobbyists” to buy entire warehouses full of sealed stuff.
I think there should actually be more focus on creating quality art. If pull rates were more favorable, then Pokemon could focus more on themes and subsets, rather than singular chase cards. As an example, if the goal was to collect 7/7 full arts, all done by Shinji Kanda over the course of 3-4 sets, then collectors would be incentivized not to skip sets.
Imagine if they had a Southern Islands-like subset, all with connected artwork, that you could slowly collect over the course of the year. Or if an artist illustrated an entire evolution line over the course of a few sets. Furthermore, if collectors knew that it was remotely possible to pull the card they want, then they would be further incentivized to consistently buy sets.
And if you lived through lackluster Pokemon sets (Emerging Powers comes to mind), then the thought of less quality artwork probably makes you shudder.
Lol. Only the reducing pulls and art were included, nothing else. I probably overdid it with the message ![]()

Step aside Assss Emmmmm Pratte, you are now the leader of the tribe.
The chances of TPCI turning off their literal money printers is 0%, lol. Their printers are arguably more reliable than the US Treasury’s BEP at this point.
Even if they could make a set as arguably atrocious as BW Emerging Powers, people with a vested interest in ultra modern cards would find a way to spam every corner of social media about how the cards are super, “underappreciated/undervalued/underrated” to artificially inflate the price…
And since critical thinking is mostly non-existent in the general populace today i’m sure people would be more than happy to burn their cash for literal trash…it’s already happening, lol.
I think if people addressed their gambling addictions first then some headway can be made in the battle against scalping…but let’s be real…that problem has only exponentially increased in the years since peak covid and it isn’t going to slow down anytime soon. Just look at how much penetration the gambling industry has made in sports…people are making their bets and parlays on their phones while waiting in line at Costco. It’s honestly pretty gross at this point.
