Wonderful collection. I love seeing people like yourself that are so dedicated to collecting specific species of Pokemon. Looking forward to keeping up with your collection here and best of luck on the Fan Club Eevee!
@chefonaquest you should wait for a deal you’re comfortable with but I paid $2,300 for mine and it ended up being a 5
PSA 5 EX- Eevee Lv.7 Holo No.133 Fan Club Promo 2000 Pokemon Card Japanese | eBay
Much appreciated! Congrats on the Trophy Kanga btw, what an awesome pickup!
Appreciate you looking out for a good deal; I actually messaged the seller about that card this past week. While the front is really clean and would look great as a binder copy, the back is lifting and has a small indent, which is a bit concerning.
Might cave on it eventually but for now I’m going to keep searching
Makes sense. Mine has a crease on the front :-/
Hard to believe that I am holding this card right now when I wasn’t even sure if it existed a few months ago.
For those who aren’t familiar with Pokémon Medallion Battle or the Eevee Ranked Challenge that this promo card was made for, I highly recommend checking out this Pokumon article on the subject.
Below is the story of how I came to be aware of and acquire this card, as well as some brief history about the card itself.
The Story
In the Facebook post announcing this event, it was stated that “Registered players in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Thailand will receive a physical promo card for the Pokémon TCG”. A month later the event ended, and soon after, Traditional Chinese copies of this card hit the market.
As @rabby250 described in this comment from 2022, it was widely assumed for about 2 years that this card had only been released in Traditional Chinese. This is even echoed in the first line of the Pokumon article I linked. Then, in late 2022, this photo started circulating:
I was informed a few months later (Spring 2023) that this card had been purchased by a notable collector in Indonesia, and that this card is limited to 50 copies. Still, there was no sign of a Thai Medallion Eevee. That was, until mid-December 2023 when a Thai seller randomly posted a copy of this card for sale on eBay.
I messaged the seller to gain information about the card, confirming that only 8 copies were supposedly given out, and I was unsuccessful in talking the seller down to a price I could afford. At that point I had not saved up enough, and I was focused on saving enough money to buy a Fan Club Eevee anyway. So the Thai Medallion Eevee sold in early January, and I carried on.
After months of stalking eBay, Mercari Japan, Yahoo Auctions, etc. for a NM Fan Club Eevee within my budget (to no avail), I randomly decided to check in with the seller of the Thai Medallion Eevee and ask them to notify me if another copy of the card became available. Then, before I could even finish typing my message, I saw that the listing was “in stock”! A second copy had been listed, and I took this as a sign.
So flash forward a few weeks, and I finally have this card in my hand! While I am a bit sad that I’ll have to wait a while until I can afford a Fan Club Eevee again, my rationale was that, if the Thai Medallion Eevee is really as scarce as multiple previous owners stated, a Fan Club Eevee would be comparatively easier to acquire in the future.
Like @eeveeteam, I’ve decided that the next phase of my collection will be focused on trying to acquire all Eevee cards in all languages, so I am extremely excited to knock the Thai Medallion Battle Eevee off my list right away. While I won’t be able to 100% the collection (thanks, Scramble Eevee ) I can’t wait to expand my Eevee collection further, and collaborate with fellow Eevee collectors and others across the globe to work toward this goal!
Lastly for this update, I’ve added my all-languages tracker to the top of the thread to keep track of my collection progress over time
Great update, congrats on the Thai Medallion Battle. Will be fun to see our Eevee totals go up together over time.
Congrats @chefonaquest. Incredible find
Congrats on securing the Thai Medallion copy!
Oops, I think that was me.
When I saw the card I also wasn’t sure if the seller was asking for a reasonable price, so I randomly threw in an offer which is based on my past experience bargaining with the same seller, cost of buying high-end Thai cards and as you mentioned the fact of the card never surfaced for over 2 years. Turned out I read the seller’s mind and my offer was auto accepted.
The card ended up earning a 10 from PSA and now lays safely in my Asian promo collection.
Thank you and congrats on your PSA 10 copy!
Incredibly excited to add an Indonesian Medallion Battle Eevee to my all-languages Eevee collection! According to currently available information, this card is 1 of 50. Not only does the Indonesian copy complete my Medallion Battle Eevee trio (which I’ve personally never seen pictured before), but this also puts me at just over 50% for all Eevee cards currently released in all languages.
As some of you may have seen in the “recent purchase” thread, I made a few bulk purchases over the past 7 months for cards in various languages. I’m very grateful for everyone on the forum who has helped me add Eevee cards to my collection in this time (@eeveeteam, @cia127eevee, @bbobrob, @Fusion, etc).
So, what’s next?
First, I decided it was time to update my binder pictures, which you can see at the top of the thread. This includes updated pictures for my EN/JP binder, and new dropdowns for each other language.
I do have a few specific collection goals for 2025 (Fan Club Eevee, 75% total collection completion, etc.) but there are a few items I still have yet to decide on. For example: my binder situation.
Part of my reasoning for taking updated pictures is that I can no longer fit my non-EN/JP cards in their designated 9-pocket binder The cards have been moved into a separate storage container until I can decide what to do about organizing my collection as a whole (likely in 2025). But I figured I should at least take pictures of the cards before putting them away.
Anyway, that’s about all I’ve got for now. Thanks for reading!
I saw that Eevee medallion battle card during my trip to Hong kong and I had to look it up to see what a medallion battle was all about
Incredible, congratulations!
The new picture for the spreadsheet tracker adds so much more than I would have expected. It looks so professional
I never played Pokemon Medallion Battle before I heard about these cards, so I had no idea what it was all about either! But finding out about the T-Chinese card instantly kickstarted my interest in non-EN/JP promos. I found it very odd that they’d make a special stamp for a Facebook game I’d never heard of
@Ratequaza @eeveeteam Thank you both!
Nice work Holahart! Excited for how the collection continues to evolve
The big jump in progress is fun to see! And the formatting in the initial post for the English/Japanese cards is really on point—it’s like getting lost in an endless sea of Eevees. All languages is such a beast, especially with a popular pokemon like Eevee.
Great seeing the progress so far and hope to see a lot more Eevees on the next update!
Super awesome update @chefonaquest. Really great to see the progress and and always the dedication to collecting Eevee as species. Wishing you lots of success with 2025 goals, specially the fan club Eevee. Looking forward to more updates in the future. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers!
