There’s no concrete evidence for this. It’s mainly anecdotal at best. You will find ‘strong’ and ‘weak’ grades no matter what cert # or range. The market does seem to value a higher/newer certs slightly more at times for whatever reason, but I have several PSA cards across a variety of cert #'s and I can’t find any discernable or consistent differences in the grading quality.

I agree that psa has been pretty consistent over time (the efour thread for 4x vs 2x certs is kinda fun to look back and read) except for first gen label imo, the overgrade rate on those are rough, especially on sports cards I’ve seen. I think they were just trying to get their bearings back then

How have we not seen a full pristine label yet? Are they sourcing 24k gold for them?
Also I like the CGC holofoil in the label front. Maybe it’s because my dad has been getting coins graded by them for years so I dig the scale logo.

Yeah but I’m not mailing it in. I’m doing it at the national conference in Chicago in a few weeks.
I actually have a PSA crossover form filled out also because I’m still trying to decide if I want to keep it CGC or not.

Damn that looks pretty great with the old school trainer cards.
And yeah you can see why they used those flat colored renders for promo materials. The actual gold embossed font is probably super difficult make readable in photos.

Im okay with a tiny bit of whitening on my 9s and 10s, as long as the front looks good.

I like the pristine label quite a bit more now that the embossment is visible. Still not a huge fan of the gold and black color combination, though 
. Looks kind of tacky, IMO. I prefer the white/black color scheme, tbh.

The new label is starting to grow on me. Everything seems very clean and not as confined as other labels.
