My Favorite is Atsuko Nishida but my preference is just Art with unique styles. There some artist that their art is amazing but it can be generic. seeing the Pokémon through different filters/styles of the illustrators is so great to me. My top favorite illustrators are very different to each other. ones like Atsuko Nishida, Aya Kusube, Tomokazu Komiya, Yuka Morii and Akira Egawa. using those as examples if they did the same Pokemon I know I am gonna have a unique experience each time and love it.
I personally like Pokémon in their natural environment, with emphasis on amazing backgrounds. I’m also a fan of ‘realistic’ art styles, instead of painting art styles. Some of my favorite illustrators include Naoyo Kimura; Mitsuhiro Arita; Hasuno; Kouki Saitou; Sanosuke Sakuma; Mizue; etc.
Here some examples of amazing artworks for each of these illustrators, to give you an idea of what I enjoy:
Naoyo Kimura
Mitsuhiro Arita
Hasuno
Kouki Saitou
Sanosuke Sakuma
Mizue
And there are a lot more amazing artists I probably forget about right now.

Although his style changed/changes significantly over time, Kusajima will always be on my Mount Rushmore just from the intensity of his colour and lighting choices. Every card I see of his genuinely make me stop and appreciate the work, and I love highly stylized artwork like his. Besides Kusajima, Adachi and Morii clay sculptures were my favorite as a kid and remain a staple for my collecting. Something about knowing how much work goes into molding those clay models will always keep me appreciative of the work they put in.
So, Flaaffy is a christmas PkMn?
That Kabutops will always be amazing to me – looks like a Great White speeding at you
I love these. Particularly the Suicune. I’m with you about artwork where the Pokémon are in nature/their natural environment. I’d love to see more of these going forwards i.e. card art that puts the same effort into the backgrounds as the Pokemon themselves.
