Buying from zandgemporium? Not a great first Experience

Ebay international shipping is capped for orders up to $2,500, explains why i cant bid

Every international buyer should be using a vault account. I’ve done countless sales over the $2500 threshold this way; it’s the most frictionless process for both parties. What zng is doing is 100% the norm for any seller big or small. If I were international I would have a much more active vault account.

eBay Global Shipping program is the way. :fist: It has been a rare home-run from eBay for sellers, in my opinion.

ZandG have one of the best service out there.
He probably has more than 1000+ packages to ship every week. Probably 1000+ messages per day, 90% will be stupid questions, if you read the description carefully you have almost all the answers. He certainly can’t waste too much time answering a person who hasn’t even paid. Customer service sucks? Probably, if you prefer that he hires someone to answer the messages at the cost of increasing the rate of his service with the consequent decrease in the amount of cards sent to him you are on the wrong track. His “cold” method is the best solution. At the end of the day, if there are problems. Ebay protects you.

Lots of options to avoid this. I use ShipMyCards for US purchases

I set my primary address to my psa vault, still dont have access to bidding. Any tips? Keeps coming up with 3008 restriction error

Just throwing ideas out there - have you done anything or sent messages that may spook a seller and get on their block list?

There is a thread called ebay garbage and it’s a running list of sketchy buyers that we block so we can avoid the troubles

Yea he must have been having an off day. Dealing with tons of messages and the stress of cancellations and scams probably has him on edge. How times have changed lol before he was cosigning he would usually send a smiley face at the end of his messages. Now its “get with it or get BANNED” you gotta love what the poke community can do to a man. Was kinda outta pocket and rude of him to respond like that. Lots of other ways he could have expressed to make a payment. Although your request was a little unorthodox. Give him another chance, his services are still top notch.

I messaged asking if i could be added to the buyer exclusion list (as im in Australia, and bidding is over 2.5k). Didnt get a response so left it there, got a psa vault address, set it as primary address. Still cant bid. Would be a shame if i was banned

My account is a business account, maybe thats an issue

Back in the day I did one high end trades with ZandG based off of our word and had no problem.

That said, this is one of the most common scams in the art world. “Buyers” want your art and need it NOW and want to send their own label… then oops it wasn’t prepaid, their buddy actually has a shipping company though and you need to pay but but they’ll send you a check, and then oops they paid too much and can you just deposit and give them the difference? Then their check bounces and you’re out the cash and the art.

It would set off red flags all around if someone asked to send me a label outside of ebay.

Never had any issue buying from them or Probstein. I have recently had terrible luck selling with Probstein and buyers not paying. Relisting the same item multiple times at once… little to no communication.

Agreed. Even as a smaller seller compared to many here, if I received an eBay message asking that, I would have refunded and blocked immediately. 90% of people who message sellers on eBay nowadays are problematic buyers, imo.

And when a seller goes out of their way to accommodate a buyer’s request, the buyer still probably won’t be satisfied. :joy:

As some said, Zangd is within his right to deny the request, but there is merit in being shocked at his reply. It wasn’t professional, and you have to realize that there are PR growing pains when scaling up from a mom and pops to a legitimate “business”. He could have been having a bad day, he could have just dealt with a fraud or scam attempt, you never know. This is why it’s important for all of us to give each other grace and not take things too personal. You got your answer and you can move on from there.

Did he give you an answer after you paid? Because I am from Singapore and I am really interested in purchasing one of his cards. I gave a PSA Vault address however Ebay needs a contact number which I am unable to give my own nor do I know a US number to give. Ill be glad to pay for the card regardless, but I am wondering is there a way to get a contact number from PSA vault or something or can I give him my own personal local number after.

Had a terrible experience with him as well. Now i just avoid. Hes a legit seller though
Just slow and terrible customer service

But if your super interested in buying one of the cards in the end he will get it to you. Just dont expect to converse with him in any way or throw in any type of complication into the mix. And if u buy the card and pay for it on lets say Saturday.. expect it to sit until Wednesday or Thursday before it even hits usps hands

Giving some advice since James probably reads this - we dont know the details of how he runs the company, but it feels like the operation is a mom and pop shop doing what they can but it is turning out to be too big to handle. Like PWCC type work with 5% of the staff.

you wont be able to pay on a saturday since all his auctions end on a sunday and they have auto 4-day cancel policy

ive never had any issues granted i havent bought anything from him in many months coz all his stuff goes for crazy prices now  i remember the old days when stuff wouldnt get paid 3 different times until ur floor bid finally takes it :joy:

What more is needed outside of purchasing the card, paying for it, and receiving it? With the volume they do, I wouldn’t expect things to get out the door Monday morning. Every item I’ve purchased from them has arrived at my door safely
