Buyer buys NM high-end card, initiates return for a stupid reason (it’s ok, it’s ebay) then swaps NM card with a played one. How do you protect yourself from that? It never happened to me, but I never sold anything really expensive yet, but I want my ass covered for the future.
If the expensive card is in a PSA/Beckett holder, it’s rather difficult to do the card swap.
I’m thinking about raw cards. I just heard story of a guy who sold crystal zard in NM condition, buyer returned a really played one and he couldn’t do anything 'bout it.
Buyer could return a box of sawdust and it would have the same effect, no need to even send a card back. It’s possible, just do your best to create a good reputation and sales history and hopefully eBay/PayPal will have your back in a situation like this.
