Booster Pack Weight changing

Hi,

Recently, I’ve been reweighing my sealed booster packs and I notice that some of my packs would change weight, in the range of 0.01 - 0.05g. These are primarily shadowless, base set, and ex dragon frontiers packs, which I am selling. I took photos earlier in the year with them on the scale so I could list them as I want. However, one recent buyer returned one of my packs claiming it was 0.1g off (they are in australia). I do notice some of my pack weights have been changing and this is causing some head scratching as I don’t want to mislead people in my listing. I’ve been using the same scale, and this scale is fairly reliable.

Just wanted to see if folks have had similar experiences…

Quick Google…It appears people would weigh different in different places because of differences in earth’s gravitational pull. but this doesn’t really explain some of my pack changing weight when I am in the same location, and weight being off for some but not others.

THanks!

One hundredth of a gram is really nothing. What’s the error margin on your scale? Even the buyer using a different or less precise scale will lead to much different results.

@yz2428, It’s probably fluctuating with the change in humidity

its your scale, maybe batteries and the general error margin they have.

.01-.05 gram difference on the same scale is definitely scale issue. I’ve been playing around with a pharmacy grade balance/scale (class 2, calibrated to class 1) I bought just for pack weighing, and wasn’t too surprised to find that the cheap $15 amazon scale I had was off by an average of 0.04g.

I’ve learned a lot using the scale and will share some of the findings once I have the chance.
