Blast from the Past: Beckett Pokemon Collector (Feb 2000)

Hey all! I felt compelled to pick up one of my most nostalgic Pokemon resources from back in the day. My friend had this exact issue and I remember us looking at it on his front porch as kids. The memories and joy I felt looking through were on another level.

I’ve attached pics of some of the coolest pages I thought people would appreciate. This is approximately the first half of the magazine, amd I’ll upload the second half later today. Take a trip down memory lane with me!

Thank you for sharing, this is so cool. :hugs:
It’s interesting, the dog tags look white in the scans and aren’t gold like the one below. They also have a different copyright and trademark.

I have the entei one; that was my childhood one! Love these, one of the most reminding relics of the time outside of the cards/games themselves. Never had this issue so thanks for sharing kromatic!

Man this takes me back! I remember seeing these magazines when I started back up again! I love how much they cared about collecting. Simpler times!

@pfm Any idea if there’s a way to flip the pics so they are right side up? I couldn’t figure it out.

Not in the forum, your phone is the thing that adds the orientation data to the image so you’ll have to manually flip them on your phone or in an image editor

I’m fairly sure this issue was the one that made me realize Fossil Mew was ONLY released in Japanese too!

It’s written about on these pages here lol:

I recently picked up 9 NM/Mint copies of Aerodactly prerelease @ $20 a piece. Interesting that they were the same price 25 years ago. Must have been the ‘shiny new thing’ at the time of publication.

Perhaps a learning lesson that we can apply to todays market?
