I currently have 5 binders, with 3 others already planned. First time thinking that maybe it’s a bit too much.

Also, how do you sort your collection (and decide what to put in a certain binder)?
Are you doing complete sets, artists only, species collecting or a mix of everything?
Are you using small or big binders? Pics are welcome!

5 binders for me currently, one for Legendary Pokémon roughly pre Scarlet & Violet era, one for Legendary Pokémon after, then similarly one binder for hits from before the SV era and one for hits starting in the SV era and then finally one binder for my Staraptor collection and a few other special cards (like two pages filled with 1 card in every language the TCG ever released in).

I have dedicated one 360 page binder for the larger promo sets like BW-P and XY-P.

My fully maxed binder currently is the 12 pager (600+) cards which contains the ADV-P, PCG-P and the DP-P promo set.

I have one binder which I keep for trading and one which is dedicated to E4 stuff.

The other binders contain incomplete sets or half sorted stuff. I always sort my binders for the promo cards based on the promo numbers. For any unnumbered promos they are all by release date.

Cheers!

Species binder and two collection binders. Have quite a few empty ones though

No don’t say that! I came here to feel better about my degeneracy.

My binders each have their own purpose (vintage sets, ir/sir art collections, sub-collections like promos and shinies and tag teams, trainer cards, Topps, Artbox and other stickers, Action Flipz, board games/card decks, wrappers, sports, MTG etc), so I know where to go to find/store any particular card. I like them to be 4x3 with wide spines to help prevent the inner column from bending. Usually 500-700+ slots to fit several similar mini collections together or leave space to grow.

I like cards. I do not have a problem.

3 Binders. 1) Lost Origin master set 2) favorite cards 3) silver tempest master set. I don’t keep favorite _important_ cards in binders though - those are in etb boxes and other containers as slabs or toploares. Really want to get a toploader binder…

I have 7 binders but they are nowhere near full. It’s more so for organization but still a work in progress.

  1. Childhood collection (base jungle fossil)
  2. Butterfree collection (self explanatory, still very empty)
  3. Artwork collection (no theme, just cards I like looking at)
  4. Inventory binder (cards I intend to sell or trade)
  5. Kid binder (shiny low value cards that my nieces/nephews/friends kids can pick through)
  6. Catch all binder (cards that don’t fit in other categories. ex e4 sig exchange cards)
  7. Transfer binder (small 4 pocket binder that’s more convenient to carry when I’m buying/selling/trading cards)

The only problem I see here is there is room for more binders on top of the horizontal red one. Otherwise, it’s beautiful :upside_down_face:

Whilst I’m self-aware my style of collecting is somewhat unorthodox, I prefer to keep a single binder composed of pages with cards that are meaningful to me in representing eras I’m sentimental towards (e.g., I have a binder page with my favorite ex era holo rares).

I think one of the greatest aspects to being a binder collector is having an opportunity to reorganize your binder(s) to subsequently re-appreciate your collection- both in terms of sorting your cards into new orientations and simply seeing/moving your tangible collection.

These are my completed binders. It’s a bit hectic but I plan on organizing a bunch of my cards this weekend.

I like cramming all the sets into as few binders as possible. For instance R&S, Sandstorm, and EX dragon will all fit in one 9 pocket binder. But sometimes the ends of eras end with some unused space. I tried doing 1 binder per set with normal and then reverses but I don’t think I have the dedication (or wallet) for that yet

Edit: I have like 15 binders lol

binders for each set have been planned out for a long time now. But I need a bookshelf. Most aren’t even used yet. But the best place I’ve started has been on promos across the ages. Gets you a condensed feel for each era of cards. They are also the most fun for me because I decided to put cards in sleeves color matching their type. So you have
red=fire
orange=fighting
yellow=lightning
green=grass
blue=water
purple=psychic
silver=steel
normal=white or off white
dark gray or “petrol”=darkness
hot pink or magenta or pink=fairy
light gray=trainer
clear=full art cards/variants.

I tried to buy binders whose colors match the closest to the set’s main color for the most part. And since vaultx did the special color binders for each set, I’ve gone with those. Though I disagree with most of the choices they’ve gone with on about half of them lol.

oh and I’m doing my best to also figure out how to do oversized cards. There is no %100 obviously best way, but I’ll eventually share what I settle on doing. I’ve bought lots of different things to test out so you won’t have to.

I have three 4in binders with my FA trainer slabs halfway up to SV, need to add at least 1 more just for those to get to current.

Then Ive got 1 ultrapro binder with cards i like, like my ampharos collection and CoL energies, and 1 for signature exchange cards.

And finally my set binders are 1/2in d ring with normal plastic 9 pocket pages. 1-2 binders per set of just the basic cards (they arent complete sets) with anything higher rarity in toploaders… or assorted piles. I dunno, i might get rid of them and just keep them in boxes.

Oh damn please keep us posted. I’ve been trying to find a specific size of page protector for the older ones but it’s non-standard so it’s borderline impossible to find it.

I have 17 binders for card collections. not all PkMn. I have another 3 binders waiting in the wings… My artist collections total 5. Set collections is at 6, and other stuff like E4 sigs, full-page spreads, MTG Lands, gradeable but not prepped, and rando neat is the rest.

Yeah I’ll definately post my findings. I’ve gone stupidly deep in testing all sorts of card storage and card protecting things to see what its like in real life. On paper, some things seem better than what they turn out being like. Various oversized cards are just a perenial issue.
