Best ways to transfer PayPal funds internationally?

Hi there,

I don’t know about you guys. But I hate how much PayPal charges to transfer large sums of money. Even if your just trying to get it into your bank account.

So I have a question for all finance workers or people who know the best ways to do the following:

  1. What’s the best way to get my PayPal funds into an off shore personal bank account?

At the moment I have two PayPal accounts. But the one that has all my money is not in Australia. So I can’t transfer it to an Australian bank account unless I transfer to an Australian PayPal account first. Which equals double the transfer charges.

Actually, I didn’t know such a problem existed internationally. USA transfers to bank accounts incur no fees.

I don’t really know anything about intricacies with finances internationally but it would seem to me like one of the only valid ways to get the money while avoiding fees would be to send friends/family to someone you can trust in the US and have them withdraw into their bank to then send to you (not sure the best way to go about this last part - there’s a fee for wire transfer between banks, correct?). Curious to see where this thread goes. If you have to go outside of e4 to get an answer, could you share it here? I’d be interested in hearing the solution.
