Best fire middle stage starter decided

Hello guys and God how good is gen 2 fire starter, both cyndaquil and quilava stood first in their respective polls and honestly I want the same. This is the third time a gen 2 starter is in the finale and all the three times it has been the winner. Hard defeat for charmeleon at final but it is a very good middle stage. Similar to ivysaur it’s nothing special but gen1 nailed with the color scheme for middle stages. Hence the golden flame is given to quilava making our positions

  1. Quilava
  2. Charmeleon
  3. Torracat
  4. Monferno
  5. Combusken
  6. Braixen
  7. Raboot
  8. Pignite
  9. Crocalor

Let’s dive into aquatic middle stages next and for the first time in this series I am hoping a winner from later half gens in that polls. So let’s see.

For my personal order it would have been this

Pignite < Crocalor < Combusken < Raboot < Braixen < Monferno < Charmeleon < Torracat < Quilava

There were a few close votes in this. Sadly it was more about which guy was uglier than which guy was cooler.

Totally deserved victory for Quilava, this evolution line is so goated minus the fact their shiny colours have been ruined since gen 3. Original dark purple was so good. :face_with_tongue:

No shot the later gen middle stages win with the water type lol

frogadier, dewott are better than the first half gens. Let’s see what happens at that time but i am hoping winner from them.

Frogadier is probably the best water middle starter. I was sort of thinking about Gen 7-9 haha

Once again, the Cyndaquil evolution line triumphs!

I feel like Fire doesn’t have a great selection of mid-stages, unfortunately. I do believe Grass and Water mid-stages are wildly superior. With that said, my personal order:

Raboot < Braixen < Pignite < Crocalor < Torracat < Monferno < Charmeleon < Combusken < Quilava

It’s interesting seeing the Cyndaquil love carry over to Quilava. It was my gen 2 starter as a kid but Quilava and Typhlosion always felt a little underwhelming to me design wise.
