I tried shaking it to see if it will fall
out and it stays in place, if anything the binder page is more close beacuse it not that thick or taking up near all of the binder sleeves space
Where can I find the premium sleeves for $2? I’ve been wanting to buy these sleeves for ages but their website always says sold out for me and Amazon has them at around $7 for 100…
If using side-loading folders then penny sleeves are still preferable I would say. I don’t like the sharper corners on Dragonshields, Ultra Pro etc. Perfect fits are also too tight for comfort, always worry about damaging the cards.
I’m currently using perfect fit + clear dragon shields, but am looking to try out a black background. Not sure if I should do black dragon shields, kmc, etc.
I’d love to hear what other sleeves you tried and what you decided on!
I always used to recommend penny sleeves inside Ultra Pro Eclipse pro binders (side loaded), but after transferring a lot of cards recently I’m changing my mind. The sleeves are FAR too prone to be caught/curled when being put in the right pockets and it looks really untidy when the sleeve isn’t perfect.
I actually tried the black Dragon Shield (given the binder pockets have a black background) and they look fantastic. Sure the edges are sharp, but they’re far more forgiving/easier to put inside the pockets because they’re thicker (more protection too). The only downside is they’re much more expensive to buy.
Yep, those are the super black I use! I really like them especially against a black binder page.
I’ve tried gold dragon shield but to me they feel “chalky” if you use them too much (though this is my memory from “playing in TCG” style use, not “occasionally taking out of binder page” use.)
I’ve tried both those Ultra Pros. I do like the “Deck Protector” slightly thicker clear plastic. However my preference remains with KMC perfect fit. My concern had been the sleeve is so tight it could scratch the holo surface, but I don’t think a slightly looser sleeve would perfectly prevent that anyway, and I haven’t actually had this issue it’s been paranoia.
I use perfect fit sleeves in a side loading sheet. Currently I will put the perfect fit in an ETB sleeve but I might have to try some of the other sleeves being suggested. I like the card displayed on the black sheet when it’s just in the perfect fit. I feel like it makes the card pop more.
I wish I had side loading sheets when I was a kid. I remember all too often I would accidentally hold my binder upside down and some cards would fall out. I’m sure if I ever find my childhood cards they wouldn’t be in the greatest condition because of this
