If someone wants to upgrade with BGS 9 - 9,5 - 10 is free to do it and I will edit the thread.

Please consider that many PSA 9s have been regraded in hope to get 10s, so the PSA 10 report is always more accurate than the 9 one

The Pokémon hype in Portugal died after Base 2, in Brazil I am not sure… The Portuguese community is very small when it comes to the TCG (though extremely good) and even smaller when it comes to collectors.

The bad printing quality, adding the fact that cards were meant to be played, and played they were, makes almost an impossible task to find one in Gem Mint condition. Also sealed products are a no see over here, with the high probability of the card having silvering and printing defects on it when opening a booster…I have been trying to locate boxes for the last year without any luck.

The extremely low quantity of collectors and the price adding the import taxes, discourages the grading service.

I hope one day I can own one, but the last one I saw “live” in mint condition was at school playground 17 years ago…it was not mint for long :grin:

opened a box and graded all holos straight away and only 5 came out of the box in 9s rest was all 8s and 8.5

In Portugal the Pokémon TCG in Portuguese was and is distributed by “Livraria Devir”, which is a Brazilian bookstore with a branch in Portugal, the cards were printed in Brazilian Portuguese in Brasil.

I believe that, in its inception the cards were imported to Brazil and Portugal from the USA (in English), soon after, when Devir got the license, they made the translations and printed the cards in Brazil and then exported to Portugal through their branch… the business is still healthy and keeps on going :blush:
I might be wrong, of course, but i strongly feel that the printing quality in Brazil was way poorer than the standard WOC quality, which was not amazing as we all know, hence those results.

Yeah, this is the same problem i have…

I sent some brand new mint cards across recently, and items are scoring 6-8 range… like so terrible, even though the stock was pack fresh.

Bad corners, and bad centering i am seeing often with Italian.

shame psa is very strict on these… they are leniant on the german cards, with minor edge freying scoring 10’s… but the lower pop languages, they seem to be stricter on.

I also have one in mint 9 but psa mislabled it. May get it relabeled at somepoint but I’m away on my travels atm!
