Artist Collectors of e4 - General Thread

Good lord these look incredible, well done. I would DEFINITLY crack those slabs.

Can you send your updated artist list? Could use a good reference point for Masago/Kusube/Kusajima.

Thank you pal  The spreadsheets/checklists are all at the very top of the first post of this thread  I’m not sure how up-to-date all other lists are, but the ones you need definitely are

@brendantheclayboy thank you aswell, friend  aight, I guess they’ll get cracked then :stuck_out_tongue: I think I’ll just hold off until I have the collection 100% complete and then they get a brand new, pristine binder.

Follow-up: They’re finally free! Get a load of that magnificent “PSA 7” surface on the Ho-Oh!

I’m only three cards away from completing the Kusajima binder right now

Cheers!

It’s so beautiful! Thank god for inconsistent and subjective grading =D

I too am just a few cards away from the biggest goal ever. But I haven’t been able to get any of them in months. So close yet so far. One day!

Added a Kagemaru Himeno Checklist to the OP! But only original - ex era! That’s what my next goal will be. Feel free to use the list and expand it to more eras if you need or want to

Also please be a little catious with this list, as I have utilised chatGPT for the first time to help me formatting the list and reduce some of the typing work. Primary source was serebii.net. If something is missing there, it might also be missing from my list. Please be aware of that.

Cheers!

I have a list that goes up to 2018ish that I’ve used to keep track of my binder if it’s any help. Need to get back into filling it up!

That’s awesome!! I’ll use it to compare against mine! I can also add yours to the OP when I find time
Cheers!

For the longest time this was on my to-do’s, but it’s so daunting and I really should be using the time for other things. So I’m glad others have gotten around to it. She has way too many cards.

A new artist I absolutely will be collecting: Tetsu Kayama. It seems they have just 3 cards so far so I look forward to seeing what else they draw up. Very cool and unique style in my opinion.

I finally came around to cross-check my list against yours and I actually found some errors in mine! I had a handful of doubles in my list, caused by serebii’s system of counting holos and non-holos as seperate cards for some sets. Also for some reason it showed Vending Pidgey as Himeno’s work when it’s actually a Kusube. And Vulpix and Marill from the Mcdonald’s e Minimum pack were simply missing completely.

That brings the final amount of Himeno artworks from Original - ex era to 238 cards (or 239 if you count the censored Rocket Grimer seperately).

Your list was a huge help, so thanks a lot, PFM! I added it to the checklists in the OP as well.
Serebii seems okay as a source, but it’s still too far from perfect for me. I think I’ll have go back to to manually click through Bulbapedia for every sinlge card (sigh).

Cheers everyone!

It took a while but I changed the formatting and updated the Himeno sheet to today (Oct 2023) (see the first sheet in the document)

645 arts not counting jumbos or non-tcg cards.

Hot damn, that’s impressive! Thanks a ton for your contribution, it’s certainly a major improvement for this thread.

If I might ask, since you’re kind of a “computer guy” (at least more so than I am), have you ever foumd a shortcut to make these lists or do you also still primitively, painstakingly click through every card on Bulbapedia and copy/paste the information into the excel sheet?

Cheers!

It’s something that can be automated but in this case I chose to do it manually

Saw scott’s recent video about 151, and something he said reminded me of a thought I’ve had over and over.
Anyone else think of this old Windows screensaver whenever they look at Komiya art?

Definitely reminds me of Komiya but how this saves your screen is beyond me.

Thanks to @Tapp i now only need 45 cards to complete my Naoyo Kimura artist binder!

Not sure if it’s what you use but I took the Kimura spreadsheet from this thread and updated it for SV and ended up finding a few older cards (and jumbos) that were missing too!

Thanks a lot for sharing, @DJGary ! I added your list to the OP!

Also I finally edited the OP entry to @pfm 's list to reflect its up-to-dateness. Sorry it took so long!

For Arita collectors, just revealed for MTG’s Bloomburrow set;

Legendary artist Mitsuhiro Arita, whose work has made him one of the most popular illustrators of all time, brings his stunning talent to Bloomburrow through his borderless Lumra, Bellow of the Woods artwork that truly captures the primal and devastating power of the calamity beasts.
